Your Favourite Colours

I've noticed that my colour of choice has definitely been changing over the years.

When I was young, it was green. Throughout high school it was blue. After I moved to Toronto, it was red. For a little while it was orange, then another little while it was white. Now it's back to green.

I was thinking about this today, and my favourite colour seems correlated with my emotions at different stages of my life.

Has this happened to you? What is was your favourite colour as a child, and what is you favourite colour now? What was your childhood like, and what are your thoughts/emotions now?

I guess I'm thinking this could be a good thesis for psych (just for fun)... your favourite colour is a good indicator of how you feel about your life.

But then I guess we'd have to establish universal "meanings" about certain colours.

And I have no idea what those are for pink or purple.

Sky Blue actually. I love it when the sky becomes that gloriously bright and clear blue.

yay blue
I know the shade you're talking about.. I painted several old bedrooms that very colour. I love it too.. it's not a baby blue its a vibrant light blue that makes you feel so good to be around... callming, yet invigorating

pink = tranquilizing, research suggested that pink makes people calm and soft-hearted.

purple = sexual frustration, is the color for royalties. It stands for luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also the color of passion, romance and sensitivity.

I thought blue meant deep, sad, thoughtful, and/or depressing.

Those of you who say your favourite colour has always been blue; I know you may say your favourite colour has been blue, but if you thought about it, does it seem like you've favoured other colours at certain times? Not including following the current styles.

For example, was there a time when you just happened to buy a lot of yellow clothes, and paint a room yellow?

Purple is also the official colour of mountain biking in 1989

blue is a calming colour

i did a speech on this in Gr 5 and don't remember much but there are some articles around on the psychology of colour. There are physiological affects associated w/ certain colours. Eg. red will increase heartrate, blue/green will slow it down.

So do you feel this correlates with those periods in your life?

Mine was blue for the longest time.
Just in the past couple of years it switched to green.

Green and yellow together is my favorite.

I like bright colors... I wear alot of Red, but mostly Blue, Navy Blue, Black, White and Gray.

I drive a Bright Yellow car though..

But Blue has always been my "Favorite"

Maybe it's because I'm hyperactive and it calms me down?

It's definitely not because I'm depressed or anything, I'm Mr. HappyPants.

sure i guess so

when i was a pre-teen, it was all about crushes, romantic love, innocent notions on life

my tween being stuck in a university where i knew none of the guys i was meeting were long-term material, dating a guy that was totally bad for me - FUCK YA i was sexually frustrated

and i guess as of recent - i've been with a guy for a few yrs, happy and giddy in love, back comes the pink.
