how many people are still poppin pills on a regular basis at clubs and parties?

it seems like a lot of people are more inclined to get drunk or baked rather partaking in chemical intoxicants.
the reasons usually provided include
(a) "i don't need e to have a good time"
(b) "i have new responsibilities that would be really compromised if i were to dose"
(c) "i'm concerned about the long term effects and I could feel it fucking me up"

But let's be honest. A lot of us have had the best nights of our lives while under the influence of the droog they used to call Adam. It made us feel comfortable with who we were, connected us to the music we love and gave us the boost to dance the night and the morning away. I know that personally, I wish that I had that e feeling 24/7 but alas, as much as I try to recapture the PLURiness of my experiences, it just isn't the same.

I still can have a really good time either sober or under milder intoxicants but I can't achieve the same type of intense connection to the people and the music.

I think everything in life has a life of its own - complete with a begining & an end. In my own inner circle, I believe a lot of my pals feel the best of what can be found with a pill is behind them now. Great memories, to be sure ... & it's not like we never go out & get totally nuts ... b/c we certainly do :D

However, the risks are there & although the scene is relatively new to me (I've only been going out for 3 1/2 years; most of my friends are veterans with at least 5-8 years behind them), I've been told that the enhancements are never as good (or reliable) as they used to be ... hence alcohol becomes a much more prominent accessory.

Anyhow, our stance has been not to quit altogether, (we still have some incredibly good times!), but to make it a "special occasion" happening. We go out a lot, but it's usually just to drink & dance. B-days & other MAJOR celebrations are another story completely. :)

E makes me puke (regularly) is the number one reason.

I am always too sketchy the next day, no matter what.

I can't moderate the intensity of the buzz of e. It's always pop and hope for the best. Which I hate.

Sometimes I need to 'go home' and e interferes severely with that.

And the (real) number one reason is that I very much prefer alcohol and cocaine. E is an uninteresting buzz now. It is the same every time. I have never once had a wacky 'experience' on e, except for just being high. Which grows tiresome because it is the same... every..... time... and again... and again... and again...

That's from the Placebo song "Special K," off "Black Market Music."

IMO, it's because of the quality the e. You know you've had a good e when you come up hard and come down soft. You should be able to go to sleep within 4-5 hours of taking an e and wake up without too much of that sketchy feeling (always a little with any mood enhancer). Nowadays, they put too much shit in e's that makes in not so worthwhile to take them.

Would you rather feel awful from a alcohol hangover or a little sketchy from a good e?

Saying all this, I wouldn't take an e every week rather than drink alcohol. It depends on the party your going to. Some parties are e parties and some are not. But I have noticed that I have been to a few e parties and just drank because I couldn't find any "good" pills.

I think ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz is more appropriate.

I did not say E was for kids, It's an irresponsible thing people do to escape the stresses of everyday society, I would say it is a childish thing we do though....Personally I have no reason for it anymore... after 5 years dealing w/situations mentioned above, I have moved on... @ some point you have to learn to live with yourself, unless pretending to be someone else is something you plan on doing for the rest of your life.

Thanks ... I love the Placebo vocals ... very haunting (& Timo's remixing, of course, only adds to the chemistry ...)

I don't know about you but all my best nights at raves and parties were me being sober. I love music no matter what's inside my body. Music is music and of course it's intensified when you're under the influence of something but to say that some of the best times of our lives were when we were fucked up, is something that I disagree with.

I am and have always been comfortable with who I am and I don't need pills to help me dance all night long.

Of course, these are my opinions and they differ from yours.
I just prefer to party sober, I enjoy it much more and I don't see the need to take pills to feel connected to music.
