i have a small request.... i don't think it's much, but i'd like to mae it anyways.....

when introducing me to another "tribe person" or just speaking to me in general, can you please use my name (shawn) instead of "CC". i am sure that we all have real names. i guess it's not always a huge problem, but it's still kind of stupid. anyone else share this frustration?

I'm always amused when I get introduced to someone and they ask me what my 'real' name is. Iunno....I guess maybe it's not as self-explanatory as I'd like to think it is?

I feel the same way about DJ names as well as tribe names. At least my tribe name sounds somewhat like my given one.

If I had to go around being introduced as 'Galactic Phantom' or something I think I'd shoot myself.

Yeah that's all well and good, but are you sure you're not Asian? :D

As for names, I should have stuck with "Sam I Am". Much easier. Meh. When you're introduced to someone from Tribe, you have to refer to TBK names to draw the connections.. After that real names should be used. Unless you've got a bad memory for names like me, in which case you may refer to them by their Tribe name. But only when speaking with another person in order to remember their real name (ie: "Hey, what's SlipperyPete's real name again? Chow Yun or something like that right?")

That was my old Tribe name and it's my dj name ... and a couple of my friends used to call me that too

well, firstly because i can't register at the present time.... but i think it's alright to have a nicname on the board, i just don't think i need to have it used when i'm out in the real world. i don't mind if someone introduces me by real name and then says: "he posts under the name 'CC' on the board". i guess i want to be thought of outside this "tribe personality".

When I meet people out, I'd prefer to hear their real name, but find it interesting to link the name and face to the board id.

I cringe when people ask "what's your board name". I feel uneasy letting people know I'm diwc.

most people call me by my nickname, including my boyfriend. i like it! i think it suits me!

i usually try to use people's first names if I go up to them and introduce myself, if I don't know then I'll use both of my names (real name first, then board name) and hope that they do the same.

any time i run into them again I try to use their real name - as long as I remember.

i don't mind when people use my board name, because its just like any other nickname, of which i have many.

it would probably only get annoying if the person constantly mimed a typing action while speaking to me...
