Worst Movie Ever

I can accept that re Shoot 'Em Up, but Waterworld?

It has to be a flop naturally: Oh yea.

The acting has to be bad despite trying to be good : Yup

It has to be cheesy but not know its cheesy: It might be one of the most cheesy movies of the blockbuster era. Although Earthquake and Poseidon come close.

It has to be an honest attempt at a good film but then be so painful to watch that you actually feel bad for everyone involved: This film crushed the careers of Costner, Hopper and the woman who's side-boobs you ought to but never see. And that girl didn't make another film until Napolean Dynamite.

Yeah I guess. I just remember watching it as a kid and having fun. The smokers, hopper with the eye, etc. I can't consider it a bad movie if I remember liking it somewhat.

How could the winner of this NOT be Battlefield Earth?

Come on, some of the dialogue actually made me feel embarassed for everyone involved.

Shoot 'Em Up doesn't qualify - it's like Crank, it knows exactly what it's doing.

for me, some of the worst ever include:

P2 (just read the cover box and you will not need to watch the movie)
Armageddon (just painful to watch)
Pearl Harbour (terrible. if anything the action scenes and Kate Beckinsale might save it but even that is a stretch)

showgirls should be on this list

univeral soldier II
the blairwitch project (forgot number 2, the first one blew too)

I had suppressed any memory I had of that movie. And now it's back. Thanks.

I forgot about Deep Purple. *shudder*

Oh man, and Soldier with Kurt Russell.

I think that one actually set records for the least amount of words said by the lead actor (I'm serious)

Dungeons & Dragons is so unbearably painful due to poor acting, poor special effects and a general lack of fantasy genre knowledge but if you listen to the commentary, the stars - which includes a Wayans brother, always good candidate for cheese - and the director talk about how amazing this movie is going to be. Unfortunately they did the commentary BEFORE the movie was released with a resounding thud.

Oh yes. The Dungeons and Dragons movie ... calling it unbearably painful is almost a compliment. I was actually embarassed for everyone involved while watching it.

its actually worth watching for the commentary just because of unbelievably wrong they are about the flick.

Rules of Attraction

I loved this book but goddamn did they fuck up the movie. Not only that, but the commentary is by CARROT TOP (yes, that one) who has nothing to do with the movie whatsoever. And the thing about it is that it entirely re-creates the experience of watching a movie with the most clueless and obnoxious human being on the planet.

Best/Worst Line from the commentary: "Oh, this scene is hot - she's really getting it...oh she's being raped."

This thread is basically a list of my favorite movies.

Stealth - are you fucking kidding me? This is a modern american classic. Its so empty and vapid that you can almost taste the platinum blonde jap.

People who dont like Babel are already depressed so it just sinks them too low

This thread sucks at picking actually bad movies with no redeeming qualities rather than movies you just didn't like/weren't in the mood for/flew over your head.

My entry - Maid in Manhatten.

Kevin Smith's 'Jersey Girl' perhaps?

It's weird how defensive he always gets about this movie. Not every stoner is going to lap up every single piece of crap you throw out there, fattycakes.

the wayans are brilliant at fromage though. i still bust a gut watching 'i'm gonna get you sucka'. i also like robert townsend's 'hollywood shuffle'. it's intentional, so their flicks don't belong in here.

my point is more that a wayans brother should not try to act serious in any film.

I still think Battlefield has to take it. I dare you to find a single redeeming quality of that movie other than seeing Travolta looking like 420 Guy.
