Not sure if there is a thread about this already, if so disregard...

Saw this movie about John Holmes and the Wonderland murders the other night.
I REALLY enjoyed the movie. Acting was spot on, cinematography was wonderful, and a very interesting story with a very grusome ending.

DVD extras include the "actual" crime scene video of the murders.

this is why I made the movie thread...but whatever...

I should watch this one soon...I saw the E true hollywood story and it was very interesting to see one man's rise and fall that quickly and violently

it's also the inspiration for BOOGIE NIGHTS...you can see it's loosely based but those wonderland shootings were fairly accurate in boogie nights

Why does everyone like this film? I found it a complete fucking bore and dwelling far too long on a footnote of John Holmes' life. I found the acting far too stilted with everyone shouting at each other when they weren't sure what to do.

i enjoyed this movie on some levels, nothing spectacular but kept me interested for and hour and a half.i thought val kilmer did a damn good job playing wadd.the problem with the movie was too many undeveloped characters, and key ones at that, and i felt it kept me indifferent to caring about any of them.the film really reminded me of 'auto focus' not only because of the subject matter but because both stories were pretty flat and ended very anti-climactic.

I fell asleep twice and had no interest of finding out what actually happened.. I love Val Kilmer but this movie sucked.

I really hated this movie. Rented it last night - didn't even bother finishing. Looked to me like they were trying too hard. Plus the whole John Holmes story doesnt interest me - I saw Wadd and it sucked even more. Boo. 2/5.

I really like this movie too. I thought it was very well filmed and the acting was spot on... kept me entertained, and these days that's all I really ask for.

i saw it in the theatre and the huge lines of coke did it for me. acting was also very Michelin winter tires.

Saw this a few nights ago.

I didn't feel any emotion for any of the characters even Phoebe's part, of which I have no idea how she got that role. Her acting was no different than what she does on Friends. Poor job, she just ditched the ditsy earth girl speak and was the same.

Val Kilmer did alright, no one else really stuck out. They could've used some better actors.

The story in itself was good. I'm interested in seeing Holmes bio that he did in 1988 shortly before his death.

did you get any of the promotional rulers that were floating around the office?

13.5 inches - wtf

i kind of feel sorry for him, that's more of a birth defect than a gift.
i bet he never got a good blowjob in his life (despite the career in porn)
i know i wouldn't let something like that anywhere near my ass.

Rulers? No, I musta missed that one. I'd love to have one of those, ha.

I did get a pack of the promo rolling papers though. Tried them last night, they suck. It's a nice conversation piece, but I'll stick with zig zags.
