WMC festival miami question

so other than a big festival of musical performance and debauchery what else goes on? Are there actual conferences with Q&A and debates about the state of music and all of that type of jazzmatazz or is just a big edm woodstock type affair (except in a variety of venues, of course)

and on that note, i have never been and know jack about it other than what i have been told by friends and have read on here

Same. But I also hear that to close off the whole shebang there's an early morning pantsin' of Deep Dish on the beach..first person with the shorts wins a t-shirt.

WMC stands for WINTER MUSIC CONFERENCE

there is an actual conference that takes place.. with vendors.. discussion panels etc.

however, most people do not actually go to the actual conference stuff during the day.

Well...thanks but I knew what WMC stood for I just didn't know if it was like a conventional conference or just a big party and the link provided above (thanks DVS) gave me the lowdown. If you're into the business it looks like there are a lot of workshops and such you can check out

Since I don't even own decks though and if I go it'll jsut be for a weekend I won't be checking out any of that stuff, I was just wondering.

The after parties? Pfft, please. It's all about the pool parties, the boat parties, the pre-parties, the private parties, the actual club nights and the after-after-parties.

Oh, and hitting the beach too. Last year I ended up on the beach with a South African guy and his Aussie girlfriend via some friends and I honestly haven't laughed so much in my entire life as I sketched out. They just sat there and ripped into pretty near everyone on the beach. It was awesome.
