Winter hiking / snowshoeing

Just wonder if any of you have experience with this - and what is the likelihood of dying if I explore the rocky mountains this time of year? part b to this question, are mountain lions extra hungry in february?

I went snowshoeing twice this weekend. High Park on Sunday was especially a lot of fun. The hills and valleys make for adventurous climbs/descents.

I always go to the Adirondacks every year around Jan-March to snow shoe up Algonquin Peak. Always a fun time.
