There are snippets that I've looked at that also on occasion lock non-Microsoft products, such as WordImperfect, but just for short periods, you know, so you start using Word once you get tired of it.

i've often figured that windows has a loop in it somewhere that automatically slows the O/S down as your computer gets older..

i can't wait till someone publish's the source code behind that loop!
