when does techno become hardcore ?

technically... at what BPM does techno cross over into the realm of hardcore ?

cuz yeah.. the harder the better! I've been up since 7am pounding the beats... and this set I'm listening to is fucking fast and hard... but sooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooood.

Rush, Ranieri, Liebing, Arcane, DSP....

fucking kill me with your techno!

Just play your record on 45.
That should do the trick.

I've heard Dave Foster (Huren) play some 90 BPM stuff that I would call hardcore...well I think he calls it 'japcore' or something but it's not for the faint of heart I'll tell you that.

I believe that would actually fall into the 180bpm hadcore category... double time.... I play hardcore and house records together all the time... by simply mixing a 260bpm record with a 130 bpm record, I can accent the 2nd beat of the hardcore track for extra pounding !! IT's actually very cool sounding.

I used to go to Speed (RIP) and buy some of the hardest techno tracks they had and play them at 45. Adam and them always thought I was crazy and didn't know anything about record speeds but secretly I knew what I was looking for... heh heh

But yeah.. I have hardcore techno that's 120bpm's and I have other stuff at 280 bpm's +, so it's a hard call....

I believe dj Brainfail from Sudbury has a hardcore track that is 666 bpm's... it's just a distorted annoying sound....
