Classic country. That's all she ever listened to. Conway Twitty and Hank Williams. I liked that stuff too when I was a kid. I bought the Conway Twitty and Hank Williams box sets several yearg ago.

...there's a tear, in my beer,
'cause I'm crying for ya dear,
you are on my lonely mind.

Oh, Jimi

My mom went to this Hendrix concert once, she tell me, but couldn't understand why they had this big screen up, with swirling colours on it.

She totally didn't get it.

From my youth...

Some old vinyl I remember dancing around the living room with my mother and sister:
Carmina Burana (Carl Orff)
Charriots of Fire (Vangelis?)
Puttin' on the Ritz (Valentino?)
Do You Think I'm Sexy? (Rod Stewart)
The Four Seasons (Vivaldi).... anthing by Vivaldi, really.
Any Blood, Sweat & Tears...
My Dad.... strumming his guitar, singing some folk song...

:D All I remember is a man in a suit in the picture - I think she fancied him. Now I want to go find a copy of that song!

I remember being in a McDonald's early '87 with my mom and something from the Joshua Tree came on. My mom, asked, "Is this U2?", to which I replied in the affirmative. She then said, "Yeah, I thought so - it kinda has that 'U2 sound' "

when i was little my mom had an extensive 8-track collection: Elton, pre-Fever Bee Gees, Paul Simon, Croce, Carpenters, Roger Williams, Hagood Hardy, Blood Sweat & Tears.

My mom only ever listened to CBC radio AM and FM. She played all the classical she wanted to hear on the piano. And she listened to us practise our instruments. I think I saw her play a tape or c.d. maybe three times in my life.
