A little banter around the office and this question pops up...The show has so much significance in our culture ;) I mean daisy duke shorts, good ol country boys, etc, and of course the good ol General Lee.

How did the Dukes get the general lee?

They were airing reruns on TNN for a long time, they probably still are in some random time slot.

That was a good show. My mom used to use it as a bargaining chip all the time. She'd wait until an hour before the show to get us to clean our rooms, telling us that we couldn't watch it until everything was clean. And it worked!

Now when I see it I pick up on all the redneck/sleeping with your cousins jokes that flew over me as a kid.

heheh...

Remember when they tried to pull that fast one on their viewers, trying to insert some strangers into the role of Bo and Duke? Were they different characters at all, or did they all just pretend that everything was cool and try to get away with it a la The Undertaker?

Even back then, I took it as an insult to my intelligence.

It was contract disputes actually. The original Bo and Luke wanted more money than the producers were willing to pay them, so they replaced them with their "cousins" who's names were also Bo and Luke Duke.

Then they realised that what they were doing was stupid and brought back the originals.

Fortunately A-Team has filled the void left by the Dukes, and with more explosions! :D
4-5pm every weekday on the redneck network, TNN.

p.s. with the exception of the feud in the WWF when there were two Undertakers, the Undertaker has always been the same man, Mark Callaghan (spelling may be wrong)
