the whole slate of inperspective releases of late have been geratly appreciated.
i've also been digging chemicals restocking of most of the cookin' ep's
i like both offshore sides of the offshore/ohm resistance 10"'s

I've also been really into the matthew herbert swing band sound and that's been leading me into his back catalogue which is fun to listen to but not the sort of thing i would want to spin at all.

otherwise i've been on a hardline rock kick - velvet underground, early bowie, lou reed, moby grape, &c.

and on a whole other tip I cannot recommend the orchestra baobab highly enough - everyone ought to go out and purchase or at least download their music (watch out for the 80's reggae inflected stuff though). They were a latin-jazz group from Senegal, they sing in French and tend to jam out their tunes pretty hard. It sounds so warm and tropical and astoundingly groovy, but also laid back and slightly trippy. I've just been downloading up a sotmr, the LP's called 'specialist in all styles' ' pirates choice' ' bamba' 'on verra ca' and 'n'wolof' seem to represent their era that i really dig. Afterwards it gets that mid 80's reggae sound.

I don't see what all the hype is around "So Vain". It's a decent tune, but I think it's getting more credit than it deserves (granted I haven't heard it on a proper system yet). There's nothing overly original to it. :confused:

I've always thought really highly of your music taste, your selection is always stellar. :)

Inperspective is one of my fave labels right now, & the stuff they are going to be coming out with is blowing my mind. All the choppage makes me very happy. If you like that watch for Synaptic Plastic, first release soon with ASC.

ASC & Subwave are doing great things as well. I'm still awaiting on my Offshore 10"

As far as dnb & the like goes, at the moment I'm feeling:
Breakage - 47 kutz (downtempo mix) - unreleased
0=0 - Because She Purrs - forthcoming
Senses - St.Germaine - unreleased
ASC & Subwave - recharge - forthcoming
Psidream & Resound - Time Goes by - Warm Communications
Calibre - Feeling Happy - Signature
0=0 - Soulhunter Testifies - inperspective
Mum - nightly cares - fat cat
cinematic orchestra - channel 1 suite (fourtet remix) - xencuts 3
Enduser - East Side Breaks - synaptic plastic :eek: :eek:
Equinox - Acid Rain (Breakage Remix) - inperspective

ASC-windchime...bass heavy!...I LOVE tunes like this...perfect juxtaposition of achingly beautiful intro and DANGEROUS FILTHY drum programming!:D ...LOTS of talent out of inperspective right now, can't say enough goodness about them right now:)...

reminiscent of lemon D's manhatten melodies is overall mood and structure...LOVIN' it right now!..if this track were a woman I'd start off making sweet passionate love then turn it into straight up FUCKIN'!:D

I'll put it this simple...Lemon D and dillinja WISHED they can rock it like this still!!...this one's a murderer...it's all about the details...the lemon style vocal snippet brings so much not to mention the dirty bassline...it has fuckin' character,and breakage has been churning em' out like butter baby!!...sorry man, I love this tune :)

alpha omega-platinum

seemigly simple tune that embodies what DnB is about for me...SO metallic and unlike anything else...DnB is just fine IMO:)

polar-slow motion

he ALWAYS got more play from me than teebee tunes...he's the Lemon D to TB's dillinja...the less prolific(in attention terms) seem to do it for me more...there's a lot more substance in lemon/polar tunes, this intro is amazing:)

No reason to be sorry, I just don't think it's a stellar tune. From a DJ perspective it works, b/c it fits anywhere in a set. I can see why everyone else likes it because it's just dark/hard enough for the one half of DnB and the vocal piece, etc pull in the other more liquid funk influence of DnB. It's just an ok tune to me though. Anyway, I'm rambling.

the cosmic forces of mu...
and this old mixtape by some cat called dj gordon - anyone heard of this fellow?
It's 90% reinforced with a little mheadz and similar, maybe 92-94. About half the tracks I only know from this tape though. anyways, it's an oldie but a goodie - shite mixing but 90 minutes of beautiful tunes
