After that GST pandemonium, I wanted to find out what people on this tribe board do for work and to put food on the table and SNUG on their asses. More importantly, do you like what you do? Is it what you studied? I dont want / need to know where or whatever, I just want to know about cool peoples' jobs to make me feel better....

I used to work at Subway Sandwiches for 8 years. G.H.E.T.T.O.! Now I work for a small research company as an analyst. Not bad but,,,,

I work for the Federal Government as "Senior Information Technology Specialist" aka Network Admin.

I went to Sheridan College for Computer Science, the co-op there lead to this job in a sense, well my old roommate got me co-op here and it lead to the full-time job.

School didn't teach me shit IMO. If you're good in IT you're good in IT, not because of books, but because of experience.

And my friend Andrew who's on the board as a lurker was like you and worked at a Sub shop before he became a Nuclear Operator... LOL!

From making Subs to breaking Atoms

Studied Social Work at school.
Am now a Business Directories editor.
And a part-time cosmetician.

Do I like my job? It's all right.
Not my life's ambition, but suitable for now...

IMO. If you don't know what you want to do with your life, be willing to try anything.

Currently I try my best to do as little as possible.

And I hope one day I'll be in a position to do even less.

But seriously, I operate a record label, DJ here and there and hustle up whatever side-venture business I can find myself.

And I love it.

I am a front end designer for a multimedia company called www.mclellangroup.com

It is mostly boring front end stuff with clients such as Royal Bank, DTT, Cisco, and Bell.

But I figure half of my day is spent on this web site

Bilingual Helpdesk Technician for ING (although I'm still doing most of my work at Zurich).

Not what I studied for but then again... I didn't realy "study" anything so it's a prety sweet job in that respect.

It's puts the weed in the pipes, and I get all the benefits of an 'adult' job.

Isn't it wierd transfering from schoolboy/girl to workman/woman (or workboy/girl?) did y'all suffer from this "oh shit this means something" feeling? I've worked part time forever, took summer school, so it's not like I've been in the winter=school summer=play groove since I was 16, BUT, real work is different.

If you have a face, I can put make-up on it.

But I highly doubt I could make you any prettier than you already are.

Job: International Account Manager
Mag. Topic: international production of commercials and music videos

Schooling: Broadcasting

What does that mean. I went to school for broadcasting to be an audio engineer. They do the sound and music for tv and commercials. That paid like ass and the hours were retarded at like 16 to 18 a day for $10 an hour. Now I represent companies that make commercials and music videos. I help them plan and book their advertisements in our magazine. Most days I sit around talking on the phone selling ad space and watching tv commercials and music videos and other wierd stuff. Sometimes I travel for different conferences and events. Life is good but the stress of budgets and sales is very very very bad.

jeremy -I love my job with all my heart- jive

Studied Telecommunication at Sheridan College. Waste-o-time!

Spent a year as a mail administrator for one of Canada's largest print media companies - oculdn't take the office job thingy!

Now I'm a Tecnician and network integrator for Lucent Technologies. I work mostly on fiber optic networks for the major communication players in Canada as well as all around the world. It's a great job that pays excellent with the added bonus of being payed to travel the world for FREE!

Can't complain!
