He didn't show up.
I left at just before 2am.
They went to get him at the airport and four hours later, no Barry Weaver still.
The guys were giving it their all to make up for it though. I'll give them tons of credit for that. I lost interest and my drive to stay so it was time to go.
I'll just keep my fingers crossed for Eric Davenport.
Thanks 2am guys. I feel bad that this happened on the opening night.

Yeah so Mr. Hairy Beaver was a no show. Kinda shitty. The Dukes played a good set (very good, you could even say) but I'm afraid the $15 was not worth it.

And what's up with the "red room"? The place looks like it was decorated by a drunken fraternity... white ribbons that look like toilet paper hanging of the ceiling are a definite no-no.

I feel bad for the 2 AM/Lush crew, but it's going to take a lot to get me out to turbo on another saturday night.

I was pumped for Barry, but shit happens. I'm sure there's a good reason for him not showing, because it's very uncharacteristic of Weaver.

I got there around midnite, and it was good to see kumi, keith, matt, derek, and amber.

It really was a shame that hairy beaver didn't show, cuz I remember how he tore the house down last time I saw him... but alas, it was not to be, but our locals did amazingly well under the circumstances.

I feel bad for the 2am crew, but worry not. It won't always be like this and you can count me as one who'll come out to your events in the future.

It was a disappointment that barry did not show up at the airport, thus, no barry weaver show last nite.

I am sorry for 2am people for all the troubles that you guys had to look after.

I just hope that people who showed up only for barry and took off as they learned that there were no barry would be able to understand that it is not completely 2am production's fault completely and will give them an another chance and will continue to attend their party in the future

as far as music goes,
i was able to get into the groove in the end of orange richie's set when he mixed some trancy tech stuff..it was nice..and i danced to it *bump* (( quote "not allowed to dance to this" (by someone crazy) ))

and then kf started spinning the duke's set initially..he started off with *this totally represents kf's personality when he goes nuts and dances crazily on the dance floor* like music full of funk and energy..

his mixing was really steady, and it made me get into the long dancing session..

and then it was adam's turn, so he would spin some really hard stuff..(oh yes, adam likes it hard!

)it was soo hard..i was going crazy inside of me, but my physical body was not really able to follow with it..lol
it was just mad hardness!

and then in the last 45 min of the set, they would spin some funky punkish techno stuff..that they were taking themselves off at the deck and shaking their ass pretty hard! and it totally hyped up the crowd, so we were all jamming and dancing with carefree altogether-

it totally was a fun time!
there definitely was this sense of unity..
remined me of the underground scene that i used to experience back in the days..so it was sweet

it was so greaat to see the dukes enjoying themselves too- we totally felt it, and we also got ur energy, and exploded with you guys! excellente time!

as for DJ Alchemy, i did not know that he spun trancy stuff..it was nice and fun to dance to his set..

but then soon enough, my bum started aching..and since i sort of got over this finally these days after two weeks of having *can not even walk properly* time, i thought it would be smarter for me to just go home and take a nice bubble bath..so i did

as for the decoration, i like the turbo's industrial look as it is..
for house music, i would appreciate some slide show happening against the wall or some sort..it would bring some nice club atmoshere and not just technoy industrial look..

i would not like the white ribbon thingy neither..so you may wanna take them off

but i appreicate all your effor and everything in the first place though!

anyway, i had a great time like usual and hope that we will get to jam on the dance floor soon!

Well waiting at the airport with Derek for 4 hours yesterday made me realize that you can't get any information out of anyone there.

I asked anyone in a uniform...and even if they had access to information they wouldn't have been able to give it out. (passenger confidentiality <--sp?)

It was a real dissapointment, with Weaver not showing, but what meant alot was the fact that there were people partying and dancing right till the end of the night.

I hope to see those people back again to support the 2am crew who did the best with what they had, and I think their best was pretty damn good.

well well well... Ironically I didn't arrive at my own party until 2am. As you've read, amber and I waited anxiously at the airport for Barry to arrive. We watched as four flights exited through customs and we were finally forced to give up. No phone call was recieved with an explaination, and there was no indication from Barry's side that he had missed his plane, got held up at customs, or whatever the storey is. We're still unsure of what happened exatcly, but we'll keep you posted as our investigation will begin on monday.

I was going to make an announcement in the middle of the dukes set about Barry not showing, but it seemed that by the time I actually got back to the club the word had gotten out. This is a terrible thing to happen opening night and 2am extends it sinceriest appologies to all who came out specifically to see Mr. Weaver.

On a positive note, the party was very well recieved and everyone was enjoying themselves. The Dukes rocked it out! Rich's set was also well recieved and musically the night regained its dignity.

The overall vibe was very genuine and we're glad people enjoy our off the wall party style. It was also nice to see people enjoying the 2 lounge areas. I don't think I've ever seen people just chillin in the basement.

We're sure that Matt C will tear the roof off the place next week and we hope to see all the smiling faces again.

It was rather unfortunate that Weaver didn't show, but if there was one thing that was cemented in my mind, it was that the 2am crew held it down regardless - kf and i are totally excited to be residents alongside such great talent. Orange Ritchie's set was totally grooving (kf worked his way into as sweaty a state as Kumi during Rich's set) and Alchemy blew me away technically - incredibly smooth mixing and GREAT track selection. Massive props to them! Solid!

AND massive props to all of those who showed up. Way to take a bad situation like the headliner not showing and turn the mentality around - there were too many smiling faces an dancing feet to count. What a positive crowd! Cheers to you!

Well, i'll be curious to see how the drama unfolds as to Barry's whereabouts - these things look bad on people professionally unfortunatly.

I think that regardless of this event, LUSH looks like there's a bright future with many more frenzied, crowd cheering nights ahead...
