I think it is stupid. I liked it when our MPs called Bush a moron and when our prime minister choose and independant path on issues of forigen policy.

This new cozy relationship makes me sick. Why should we be on good terms with a pyscotic leader.

Also i could be wrong but isnt an election coming up in the states. Woulndt cozy up to bush anger a new democrat president.

Anyways i am now convinced that paul martin is a weeny

warming up my ass, Bush agreed to try and remember to call Canada the next time he deports somebody of Canadian citizenship to be tortured. He also agreed to try and get the border open on beef regardless of the fact that beef is in massive surplus and not worth anything.

Martin isn't an idiot he knows damn well that Bush gave him nothing. The only thing he may have given him is the oppertunity to bid on Iraqi contracts. Bush didn't have a choice on this, he has no way to insure that American companies don't have canadian content. Our economies are far to linked to be able to say that any product or service is %100 american or canadian, we're invested and co-owned far to much.

I don't like Martin, I think he is a cheapskate power hungry prick. But lets not confuse this with being foolish or short sighted. Far as business and finance is concerned he is one of the best in the world.

Even on the contract tip, there are very few Canadian companies that would be able to place a competitive bid on the main contracts in Iraq, with the exception of a few in Montreal and our area. Even that was more of a political move.

I agree very few people benifit nothing really changes, but they will say they are best of friends.

now read between the lines a little...

Ole Jean used to talk about baseball with Bush, "you know he is a big fan, and so am I" (I believe is the Quote)

will low and behold what do Martin and Bush talk about, yup baseball, because with a snide quip about hockey. Like Bush can talk down abut any professional sport, even if we kicked there asses at it,

Our relations are just as icy and neither side cares to change it. Business doesn't seem to care less and I don't think Bush or Martin care. Outside of the Canadian newspappers there is no press of any of this. I argue that the tenssions are a manufactured story to sell pappers.

for the record bush isn't pyschotic. his personality (or lack of) resembles a sociopath. i don't think he understands or cares about consequences.

that is all.

Any more anti-American talk like that'll get the troops at Ft. Drum out of the bars in Brockville and on their way to Ottawa!
