Vital - Last B-Sides Party

Well, I went to the first four Vital partys then I unfortunatly missed the last two...

but am I ever glad that I went to this one!

Such a good time!
Wicked people there, and the music was sweet as wel(well at least the breaks were...)

Last night was my first Vital party, and also my first time at B-Side's. And I must say that I was VERY impressed.

It was refreshing to go to a place and not recognize many people, and the people that I did know/recognize were there solely for the music and to have a good time (i.e., not many Sketchy people there at ALL). The vibe was amazing, Ruckus and Marcus spun amazing sets (though I didn't really like the beginning of Marcus's set TOO much, it was too "girly"),
and I was even able to manage to dance for a little bit on my bum knee.

All in all, the night was well worth my $8.

P.S. Moez, it was really nice meeting you for the first time last night.

Thanks Shawn for being you and for having a good time, as you can tell I was really worried that you have been stressin'.

The jungle was wicked. I was really happy to hear some good stuff after two weeks of techno and house parties. Bleh. Much needed. Marcus is always great.

But *ahem* as soon as the breaks came on, I was totally glowing. I was just so happy to hear the breaks... I don't know why! It's just so damn funky! Ack! What am I saying?!!! It's all your fault, Echo!

And how wicked was it to walk around and be able to get a smile, a hug and a great conversation every two metres. And I was talking with others and I think it was one of the most positive atmospheres experienced (at least, for me). [sarcasm]Of course, the Tribe massive had absolutely nothing to do with it. [/sarcasm]

And thanks for the smooches, Mystery Man. It took me almost two hours to get home and I was STILL smiling when I got in the door. You actually got rid of my headache cuz my body chemistry changed.

Hopefully, Vital will move on to a new level. Wishing you the best, Shawn.

and an amazing time was had in deed.
Besides a few spilled drinks, and a couple blurry moments, the night was deffinitely one of the best of the entire summer.

There were smiles on every person there, so many friends to talk to, catch up with, and some sincerely excellent music.

I am not a huge jungle lover but this is jungle I can handle. Almost more melodic, in terms of there being a musical-melody line, rather than the clumping sounds of bass and noise that I had grown accustomed to at other events. this was truly wikkid to chill and listen to.... BUT as it drew near 1:00 I was becoming so antsy for the breaks. EVERYONE was on their feet when they came pouring through the speakers. No music style can make me dance as much as they do!!! DAMN do I ever love them.

the sexy-ladies-dancing-crew was in full effect on the floor, with the likes of McBee, Andrea, Echo, Laura etc... damn you all dance fine....

The night was completely stellar, and I would be so sad to never see one of the same again!!!!

Nice to meet you PennyLane as well, and to see some people that I hadn't seen in forever...

I took SO many pictures so I will post them for sure !!

Wow what a fun night, not to many clubs have a vibe like that flowing trough them. I had so much fun playing for everyone and made sure the set would be one to remember as it was the last dance. There are also not to many places were we can all just let go and have so much fun.

Shawn and Sarah you guys rock its to bad it had to be the last party, at least you went out in stlye.

I also want to thank everyone that came out to support the breakbeat sound without people like that I would probably be playing country or something. Big ups to all that attended. It was all about the Hat!!!!!!!!!

Good luck Shawn on your future endevers, and thanks once again for showing so much support towards me and The green olive, We played almost every Vital party and that shows some wicked trust in us to be able to rock the show

it was all about MARCUS last night. i missed velocity and ruckus so i can't really comment on their sets but marcus had me shaking my ass throughout his entire set! he started off playing some nice vocal chunes, progressed into some full cycle and v bizness and ended with some ragga. i'm not really someone who reacts to ragga but when he dropped top cat's police and helicopter...i couldn't help but smile when marcus was done and every1 was *applauding* him. it was one of those moments that will be tattooed on my mind for a time to come.

green olive and switch were wicked as usual. if i had a buck for everyone who came up to me saying "YOU'RE dancing to breaks!?!" i'd be a rich gal. i'm far from being a breaker but everytime i'm at a vital party...i can't help but dance when i hear them!

sean..i seriously hope that last night wasn't your last party at bside. i think everyone who came out and was there can attest to the fact that you have something good going on there..and i really hope last night wasn't the end of that good thing.

big up all the happy faces that i saw last night (moez.....post all the pictures you want..just don't post any of me!!!) and thank you to the person who walked me to my car last nite. sorry bout the bird poop tho....LOL!

^^^ thanks for the correction of my name. i had a great time. it was really nice to end off the way it's always been. it's really sad that i won't be there. it's become my second home.

last night was supposed to be my sober night. i wasn't planning on being drunk at all, and i only had 2 drinks before midnight i think (besides the 2 beers at the bbq). but after midnight things got pretty crazy. it turned into shot madness towards last call. i did entirely too many all at once.

great tunes for sure. the d&b is usually a little more laid back and people just chill to them early on, but ruckus started playing some heavier and bouncy tunes which got everyone out to the dance floor. next up was marcus who promised a very soulful set. and what did we get? we got some nice soft stuff, a little heavier and then old school. what a nice surprise as marcus doesn't play old school often enough anymore. although the d&b wasn't what i was expecting, it was a beautiful surprise and that dance floor kept bouncin righ until the end. on a specific note, i was just about to request dub plate one by congo natty when he read my mind and dropped it as his last tune. velocity also did his thing as he always does, and played a very sweet set of bubbly d&b. make sure everyone notes that this is the most talked about up-and-coming djs of the year for a reason; he knows his tunes really well!

breaks were wonderful as always. i need not say more than these two (switch and green olive) are amazing!!!

Oh, what a night!

Memorable for so very many reasons. It’s strong hope of mine that Vital will live on, but if that had to be the last one, at least it went out with a bang. Good tunes, great friends and all sorts of fun along the way.

I ended up arriving with a bit of a crew, due to an impromptu gathering of kats at my place before hand. Thanks to those of you who came by and made fun of my pictures, stuck beer labels on my wall, conjured up dirty sentences with the word magnets on my fridge and called me a jungle thug. Props as well to my partner in crime who makes a real mean Pina Colada. (Svet‘s drunk??? What???)

When we got to B-Side the party was well underway! It was so wikked to see so many people out to support, and even better that everyone was having a fabulous time. TBK was out in full force too, you all bring such a smile to my face!

Marcus was spinning and although I’m not much of a jungle fan, (despite earlier comments made) I was enjoying his set. I even danced a bit after getting dragged on to the dance floor. (Shawn seems to be intent on converting me!)

I was a happy camper when the breaks came on though, with Switch and Green Olive doing a back to back. I think breaks are absolutely the most fun to dance to when you are a little tipsy. The set just kept getting better and better and every time we went to say goodnight, another great track would get mixed in and we’d have to stay a bit longer.

After a chaotic journey trying to get a cab, I finally made it home, with a big smile on my face. And I know I’m not the only one..

It was a great night to end off an already fabulous day. Thanks to everyone who helped make my night sooooo fun!
