Viewing tribe on iPod touch or iPhone

if this has been already asked please forgive me. Is there a version of tribe formatted for these type of devices? I know some sites has this sort of thing as a kind of stripped down version to make them faster to browse. If not, any plans for this in upcoming site upgrades? I guess this is directed specifically at Alex.

Thanks!!

Its not really necessary IMO, Tribe is generally pretty lightweight (aside from picture threads) so it loads plenty fast on my iPhone. Not that I would turn down a mobile version mind you... but I check some other forums with mobile sites that are terrible compared to the full format version so its not a worthwhile trade off to me.

Most big name standard sites have a mobile or .mobi site attached to them. IMO, viewing regular websites in an iphone or blackberry looks awful. Hopefully in the next few years this won't be a problem.

not sure about blackberry but 99% of the time viewing a site on an iphone looks exactly like viewing it on a regular computer..

Same.

The only thing I don't like is that for most of the text I have to zoom in quite a bit.

What I mean is that websites should (or will, in the next couple years) have a mobile site optimised for your smartphone, rather than use an optimised site for desktop browser. You shouldn't have to zoom in to read content.

And that's the main problem, it shouldn't be. You're going to see more and more sites in the near future offer separate mobiles sites. Try browsing Facebook in Safari rather than the Facebook app in an iphone and see if you notice the difference. Here's a list of mobiles sites.

I find the opera mini browser works best for sites like tribe and is miles better then the default crap on the older BBs. You can download this for free.

well....i would say that if you want a separate mobile site you can usually find it...www.nhl.com vs. www.nhl.com/mobile for example...

lots of people, myself included, dont want a dumbed down site though...thats why i have an iphone...i want to see the whole shebang...if you want a simplified site then go ahead and rock whatever mobile device you like...i want to see it all, thats why i have what i have
