lets see.... went to hear kenny and nicky sat night, havent been 2 a party in a lil while. couldn't really complain to much about the set as i feel they were holding it dwn as usual (i m always dwn for a kenny ken set) ..... although i was really dissapointed tht det didnt go on .... i was anticipating him as much as kenny ... tht sucked ass! the only problem i had was tht i felt the venue was shit. i've been to a million partys at the docks but its not doing anything for me anymore. What hapenned to all our dope venues???? where did they all go??? we need to wrk on sum better spots to throw partys @... for real.. i miss the days of the masonic temple and shit like that tht space was the biz-omb... especially when they had tht elevator thing going .... lol.... just curious as to what venues anyone on the board miss?

how about the news? I shudder when I think about how dirty that place was. Remember the lovely ponds that were created from overflowing water from the washrooms? ah yes......memories.

I will forever miss the original "E" party space! The Docks was so much better back in the day of the original Destiny Fridays. Long gone are those days! I shutter to say it but I almost miss the Wharehouse...oh Pardon, me Hans and Fritz just reminded me its the "KOOL-HAUS"

the Jane & 7 BINGO HALL!!!
how I miss that place.

the Newz had its moments, and the Toronto Congress Center was pretty dope (Syrous ? Year in 1999).

and the Etobicoke Ice Sports center was wikkid!
so much room!
2 arenas, a room above them, and an outside area.
best big party venue for sure.

Although I can do without the shards of fibreglass being stuck in my back after leaning against the walls.

the event at the Toronto congress center was my first rave, and my first time doing any drugs harder than just smoking weed.

The ice sports center is definetly very good. I went there just to see mc det.

The warehouse used for dose 241 in Sauga!! (illegal)
The funpark behind Yorkdale used for E!Network (no longer renting for raves)
The loft used for Fun!E sorry E!nuf (Actually I think someone lives there)
downsview Military Base Hangers (is it still an indoor soccer field)
Toronto Island Airport (it was a once in a lifetime deal from what I heard)
Luxxor (okay I hated the people but it was a nice venue)

Hell I miss the Warehouse compared to most of the crap people end up having to use.

I highly doubt it'll happen but I think some Science Centre action is in order. Maybe another hangar party? I missed Airport '94 and have regretted it ever since.

Does anyone remember the LA 5 year(?) party that was out back of a bunch of wharehouse buildings somewhere in the Markham area. It was rainning really bad all night, everyone was drenched and included all of the usual LA sketchyness...
Just thinking that those wharehouses would be a good spot... if anyone can actually get into them this time around. (No more overcrowded circus tents and no more LA style parties for me)

I've also noticed a giagantic space in the north end of waterloo, it is a vaccant big box grocery store that has been empty for at least the better part of the year and I'm sure that if anyone wanted the space for a night, the owners would be happy get some rent comming in. tons of parking, non residential area and even has shelter for the line ups (overhanging shopping produce covers on the outside walls at the main enterance that could easily cover a hundred people in line) But then again it is in waterloo and i know how much most TO people would hate to trek outside the city limits.
Just a thought, and the fact that it's a 5 minute walk from where I'm currently livivng. :D

I've been meaning to ask this on Tribe for a while.

My first rave was NYE 1995 - '96

It was a Better Days/Pleasure Force/Syrous production, somewhere near that old Price Club off Islington in Etobicoke.

Was anyone at this thing? The fire department busted it at 8am, but I'm curious which DJs I saw that night.

That was a crazy warehouse party, if there ever was one. I remember waking up in some office part of the building after, uh resting for a little while and seeing an orgy taking place in the room. It was the only time I've woken up to find reality weirder than my dream.

That place is jokes...it was opened and closed down in less time than it took to build the place. It does have potential, but it is in a highly visible location.

I think some sort of "gifts for disadvantaged children" organization uses that place as its HQ during Christmas, but it's left vacant for the rest of the year...

I was there. That was the night that I met my ex-boyfriend, Dave.
I can't remember who was spinning that night, but I do remember one of the promoters spraying champagne on everyone at midnight. That was also the night that some people ( I won't name names) who were running the coatcheck stole all the money and took off. In the morning it was up to you to find your coat; luckily mine was still there.

yeah it was an odd venue. chillout room after chillout room. must have had ten separate spaces in there.

I remember J Double was headlining the jungle room.. some other dood from the states in the house room. Thought the party was rank compared to the previous year (how can you top NYE 94?)

It was kinda funny celebrating the countdown in the house room.. then walking into the jungle room to see that they were just starting the countdown.. 2 for 1!

Totally remember this party! I think the space is torn down now and new townhouses now reside there. The only DJ I can rember for sure was Little T from Vancouver. Those little offices were great for chillin. I smoked the biggest joint I have ever seen at that party. About the size of a big cigar, must have went around the room a half dozen times. I think there was also a small downtempo area set up just outside those offices with some trippy tunes. Damn good time!
