Vegas vs Atlantic City

Where would you go for a stag?

Here's the situation;

6 guys going on a double stag this summer. The choices are either Vegas or New York/Atlantic City. 3 of the guys have never been to Vegas, none have been to Atlantic City and all go to New York on at least a yearly basis.

3 of the guys, their main priority is getting crunked...really crunked. The other 3 will booze it a lot, but probably not take it much further than that. We all have friends in New York that could help those looking to turn it up, but no hook ups in Vegas. 2 guys like to gamble, the others couldn't care less.

Plan A: Fly to NYC, over night trip to Atlantic City by bus, back to NYC, then back home.

Plan B: Fly to Vegas, back home.

One bachelor wants Vegas the other NYC/Atlantic City.

Wondering what experiences, good or bad, people have had in either place.

I say Vegas. Airfare will be roughly the same, climate is better, and Vegas is *Vegas*. Go and have some fun at the casinos and clubs, maybe a round of golf, and enjoy the strip. Atlantic City is ghetto by comparison and the only benefit is its proximity to NYC. To phrase it another way - go to Vegas is you want to go to Vegas, go to Atlantic City if you want to go to NYC with a day or two of gambling.

atlantic city is the worst. it's so ghetto! the main beach strip is ok i guess. but everything else is all sorts of cracky, the casinos are meh at best and filled with all sorts of geriatric tourists... i've never been to vegas but i can 100% guarentee you it's a better time than atlantic city. If you're going to go to NYC, spend your whole time there. Otherwise i'd say vegas, baby! VEGAS!

^ I agree.. I went to Atlantic City like 8 years ago and it seemed kinda sketchy. Things seemed a bit old and rundown (at least the boardwalk part of it) but who knows they may have cleaned up by now. I love New York too but if you go every year it would probably lose some of its charm.. go to Vegas! :D

The stories are true. Atlantic City is cracky and rundown. I just happened to be there a couple of months ago because I was visiting relatives nearby. I spent the afternoon in Atlantic City and had my fill. The boardwalk is kind of cool, and the casinos are casinos, but the rest of the town is sketch. Everyone else there seemed to be about 85 years old. I've never been to Vegas but I'm sure it's a million times better than this.

your question may very well be... "rama vs. vegas". you dont go to atlantic city to party. you go there to gamble.

I was in Atlantic City two weeks ago. Although Ive never been to Vegas I would have to say that If youre planning a trip there in lieu of Vegas youre retarded. However I think I would enjoy NY about 100x more than Nevada (but Im kind of partial cause I live here and make out with the city on a daily basis).

Better casinos: Vegas
Better strip clubs: Vegas
Better non-gambling attractions: Vegas
Better night clubs: Vegas

Better cigarette burns in carpets: Atlantic City
Better ratio of geriatrics from Ohio gambling: Atlantic City

I've been to both and it's no comparison, despite all the plans they have to revitalise the AC strip. Go Vegas.

I've been to Vegas and it's, well, kinda too sanitary for me. It's like it has been washed over by the Disney Corp. I was hoping Atlantic City would be more like Vegas was in the old days....but it seems I was sadly mistaken!

Vegas it is!

Any hotel/club/ advice?

Vegas has thrown away the family image and is back to be the US destination for debauchery.

I've stayed at the Palms...great younger crowd and clubs...off the strip too much.

If i was going again tomorrow i'd probalby try to stay at the Hard Rock - seems to be the Palms of the strip.

Hey-I was there a couple of weeks ago as well! Was that you winning big at the new Trump casino?

There are a couple of new resorts off the boardwalk area, but they are still Vegas wanna-be's in my opinion. The "feel" of Vegas is much more exciting. And the weather is better.

who cares about the strip... you need a car to get around as the scale of it is not designed for pedestrians. it's pathetic.

HRH is the best place to be by far, however, it is not on the strip at all. the palms has turned into a POS and is a magnet for middle america and the like who have heard about it and think it's the place to be. it had its day.
