UP festival

thought i would ask this directly in here...is there going to be another UP festival this year...i really enjoyed it last year (thought the venue was perfect) & although i heard some things after about it not happening again, i was sort of hoping it would be...

any info would be appreciated...

I am so looking fowrad to the up festival this year, next to pride it was the best outdoor festival by far! I was flyering for wemf all that day and eating watermelon that was apparently spiked with vodka....I thought that I felt weird after eating it. It was such a great day, and so many wonderful faces were there!

i've been to all three as well.... i think temperance st. was my favourite of the three but last year was so lovely too.

shit, my memory is beginning to fail me.

i remember seeing steve silk hurley at dufferin and king - or somewhere near there.

last year was fucking sweet. albert assoon dropped voodoo ray by a guy called gerald and i lost it.

kerri chandler knocked me off my feet as well.

this year i'd like to see ron trent - or the three chairs! (kenny dixon jr, rick wilhite(sp?), theo parrish)

but definitely ron trent.

librad, i believe the party on temperance was UP...i missed the daytime event 2 years ago, but wandered by the mockingbird that night...first time i ever heard st germain rose rouge out...albert assoom was at system last night & in my flighty chatty mood i mentioned how much i enjoyed his set at UP last year...can't remember his reply, but i think it was positive

heres hoping it's going on (cause i believe it happens in may n'est ce pas ??? )

...the first UP festival was on Temperance st. It had Angel Moraes, David Morales, Miss Honey Dijon and some locals. From what I remember, it was a beautiful sunny day and the streets were full of happy smiling people. I believe that it will happen again this year, sooner than you think! It shall be a JOYful event I'm sure!

The UP! on temperance was my personal best. Morales dropped "flylife" and "I've go what you been looking for".

the official Sound Signatures afterparty at DEMF this year is Theo Parrish, KDJ and Larry Heard with live PA by Norma Jean Bell.. gonna be sicker then last year

Hmm....the first party at temperance was amazing. except for the sketched out etards loitering the streets with their eyes in the back of their heads. IN BROAD DAYLIGHT no less.

That night I went to what will forever be known as the LAST party at the International Centre --- Nation, i think it was called. Jeff Mills was the guest of honor. I remember walking by temperance street at 8:30am sunday and it was littered with all kinds of shit. bags and bags (small and big) of illicit substances.

Temperance St. was so nice: sun shining down, house in the air, dancin' in the streets ....
Followed by the after party at Industry with Angel Moraes was slammin'.

Will it be back at harbourfront this year?
- dancing on grass doesn't go so well, but still nice.

chill atmosphere, cool choons...friendly peeps

i even brought too much food to donate last year....it's all about the pasta baby!!

^^ UP Fest is an annual celebration of House and has been at end of May, beginning of June for the past 3 years.

#1 in '99 was downtown on Temperance St. (Yonge/ Adelaide area)

#2 in '00 was at an empty lot in King/ Dufferin area.

#3 in '01 was at Harbourfront on the main stage and on the grass.

#4 this year ??

Every one was a beautiful thing - various DJ's spinin' house in the open air all afternoon and into the evening. Not something you want to miss.
