Anyone work around University & Dundas? I'm here for a few days and need to know where to eat for lunch!

There is usually a hot dong vendor on the southeast corner of University & Dundas. :)

Seriously though, I would probably recommend checking out the Hong Shing (one block east of University, south side) or the Yueh Tung a bit farther down at Elizabeth Street. If you're into Middle Eastern food ... try Mediterranean 2 Go at Dundas & Centre or the Istanbul Cafe a couple of doors down.

My stepdad's old restaurant was an institution on Baldwin (Gaston's), but it closed a few years ago.

Hong Shing got a "fail" when they were assessing food places a couple of years back... potato bugs in the kitchen apparently. I've never gone back...

I'd say the Thai place just east of Hong Shing, Coconut Grove (Nice roti shop just east of Hong Shing), Pesto (pasta joint 1 block north of Dundas on the East side of Univ) or the food court at the art school west of the intersection on the south side. Oh, and Tim Hortons on the southwest corner.

Matagali on Elm, just west of Bay. Well-prepared Thai and Indian food, and decent prices. Their mango lhassi was so thick I could barely get it up the straw.

Beware the all-you-can-eat Indian buffets around there though, unless you want to keep ducking out of your afternoon meetings to use the "bowel-sewer interface" (not my joke, but couldn't resist).

Your building is probably connected to the path.. head down in there and there are many food courts and eateries to choose from.

I so agree! :) CHUM employees get a 10% discount to boot, so cheap yet so good.

I ended up going to a little Vietnamese takeout place in The Grange. It was pretty good, but we'll see how my stomach reacts this afternoon.

My favorite restaurant on Baldwins is John's (there is hebrew writing one of the windows), they make amazing pizza and pannini sandwiches definitely check it out.

Hey Sugar,

I work around University and Dundas. I actually hit Yeuh Teung's today for lunch (Chili Chicken rules!). Definately hit the Grange for lunch...lots of nice places in there (such as Sate Sate). Other places in the area that are good are Salad King (5 minute walk), Ginger (Gerard and Yonge). On Dundas just East of University are a shiteload of places to eat...ie a pizza place, a falafel place, jerk chicken place and other "places". I don't want to type place anymore but if you wanna hook up for lunch...PM me :)
