Wow! What a cool party! For the whole hour that I was there for, it was pretty damn wikkid!

I'd never been to a BLA party before, but I'm definitely gonna try to hit up the next one. I was initially there to flyer, but since I got there early (around 130am), I said, "Whatever, I'm here and I've never been to one, so I might as well check it out." The place was packed, there were some cool trippy decorations all over the place (I haven't seen the Tropicana look so cool in a long time), and the music was sooo dope!
There were a lot of hippie types there, and the whole crowd in general was pretty awesome. Hardly anyone was sitting down, everybody was dancing.

If you've never gone to a goa party, check it out! Very cool!

what can I say.... I am still in a crazy state of mass confusion in regards to tonight, but all I know was WHAT A NIGHT IN DEED! such a good time and Tropicana looked deadly. The art that was up all along the walls was just incredible...

Wizzy Noise was fucking incredible... sooo good, I haven't danced that hard in the longest time... non stop kick ass pounding goa beats....

so good.... damn!

What can I say.. last night was in-flickin'-credible!! Wizzy Noise destroyed every dancer in that room - first the 2 hour live PA then the two hour DJ set.. I still haven't decided which one I prefer! Manomanoman... added to this, it was one of those old-friends-comin'-out-of-the-woodwork parties. Took me back a good two years.

BLA - Your parties just keep on getting better and better.. keep up the momentum!!

Whoa... last night was some crazy shit. B.L.A. absolutely rocked as one of the best parties of the year and that set from Wizzy Noise was nothing short of incredible!
After checking out their mp3's, I wasn't expecting such a hard and full-on set from them and it was a welcome surprise.
This party was also about partying with old friends that I hadn't seen in too long and that certainly added to the good times.

Tropicana looked unreal with the great artwork up all around, the decor was wickedly psychadelic.

Such a good night... I know where I'll be next time BLA throws an event!

this party blew every other party i have been to OFF THE FUKING MAP(and ive been to quite a few)... in fact i would say this was my first true RAVE in years of partying..

Wizzy Noise absolutely destroyed the crowd, everyone just went fuking mental... bodies THRASHING (literally) everywhere i looked...

the venue was gorgeous..

the capacity was totally perfect..

the vibe was the best ive ever experience, dammit goa heads are by far the kewlest to party with, no lameass cracked out k holers in the corner just crazy dancing all night.. and people who were one and all THERE FOR THE MUSIC...

all i can do is laugh at that lameass disgruntled junglist bitching about the trance at the end of the night (you all heard him), and remember the expression on his face when the crowd went off to quivering virgin.. priceless.. i was standing infront of him and he honestly looked a bit intimidated (no shit...=D..)

big props to quivering virgin.. minimal with lots of acid.. and sickeningly dope rhythms.. you get the best set after wizzy noise

lastly.. id like to thank everyone who attended this party (you fukin rocked).. the djs (killer every one).. and especially BLA (..one word...MAGIC)

checkin 'psychedelic zion' at the bloor cinema beforehand made for a great adventure... as for the party, well what can be said? hot, sweaty, smoky, stagnant air.. bodies packed together amidst some excellent decor.. hard pounding rhythms and a kickin sound system.. and a certain curious vibe that i haven't picked up on at a toronto party in a while! it was excellent seeing so many old friends, chillin with new ones, and dancin my ass off for the interesting portions of uriel's sets.

music-wise i was satisfied but not impressed. due to not being able to find the timetable i missed out on the first 45 minutes of the live show [though one wonders how live it was?] and somehow i managed to miss most of my favourite wizzy tracks [shores of freedom, vandalist, ocean travelling.. where were they?]. but that's all good.. the music was killer! and it sounded excellent on that system. if i had one complaint for the night it would be the lack of proper mixing... its just a minor thing in the scheme of things i guess but its bad when you're dancing along and have to stop cuz the next track gets brought in on a different sort of rhythm. not beatmatching sorta breaks the flow, ya know? but there were so many good elements to this party that i mostly overlooked this sorta thing. it is unfortunate that i was so bloody tired later on... the last track i danced to was april fool's, but damn, that's a fun song

all in all, twas a good party -- lotsa fun..

This was the first rave I've been to in over 2 years--and I wasn't disappointed!! Although the music isn't really my thing, I got into swaying and bopping to it nevertheless. What I really enjoyed was the atmosphere--there were tons of cool people to just look at (!!!!) or talk to, the decorations made the place look less cold, and the vibe was very positive. I have never been to a party that integrated electronic music and the whole "hippy" style. Strangely, they work beautifully together!
I too saw someone I hadn't seen in a long time--that was the best part.

I must say that this party was fucking wicked!

The decorations were wicked and the music was phenomenol. Wizzy Noise tore the place down! I've never seen a dance floor go nuts like that! It was too bad that by that point, my body was so tired from dancing that I couldn't dance to it, but I still enjoyed it.

The only complaint I've got was it was soo bloody hot! Showering never felt so good as it did that morning!

Anywho, thanks to my morning crew for making it an enjoyable walk home. (you know who you are!)

Can't wait for the BLA tent at Om!

I figured because of the attendance at the last few goa parties I could get there a little late. Showed up at 1, waited in line for 15 minutes, only to be told that there were no more tickets inside

very disappointed that I couldn't make it inside - I knew I should have gotten a ticket beforehand

I ended up at 160 Spadina for a short time - but the heat was insane so I left.

What can be said that hasn't already? Typical BLA style, never dissapoints, wicked decor etc etc. Although their previous event was better (IMHO), BLA parties are like sex/cold pizza, you know the drill.

BMD was correct: hot. HOT! I loved the condensed human sweat dripping from the ceiling onto my head, or better yet, in my mouth. But, hey, this is a goa party, where your earthly sensibilities take an indefinate leave. Much better than anything else out there.

Wizzy Noise was great. Why do all goa acts look like such nerds?

As far as the jungle yeller; why would you go to a goa party to hear jungle? That's rather silly. Goa party = jungle-free zone (the way I likes it).

He was promoting a jungle party, but in a very rude, conceited, "forget this shit music, come see some jungle" attitude that pissed me off.

I didnt find it much hotter than other parties, but that's still really hot.

I'm not surprised to hear that it sold out at the door- the place was surprisingly packed-and as I result I could barely grab room to dance(I mentioned this before-Please get more fans for all us frenetic dancers!!!)
- but managed to shake it enough to feel the pain in my calves still today...
Oh yes-and the art was sooo wicked!

Fun to have peeps come out and expose them to the spirit of GOA-(tho it did sound more on the trancey side).

WOW wee all i can say is damn it's nice to go to a party that you can actualy call a rave.The music was just solid,yeah some mixes were messy but who cares we all can't be perfect like some people..It was so hot in there too I wish they had fans in all 4 corners ,that would have helped out a bit more..Anyway i got a bit of info out of the promoter,he said for OM there getting M.O.S to play a live set..Yes Wizzy was F**** amazing but if you haven't heard M.O.S play you are in for a treat they are insane,I put them in the same boat as X-Dream so now i'm going forsure just to see these crazy guys...

This was my first BLA party and I definitely wasn't disappointed. There is no way I'm missing the next one. I think the best part about it was that you knew the people were there for the music. It was so nice to not be tripping over people that have decided to sit in the middle of the dance floor with bags full of everything imaginable. In fact I noticed hardly anybody was sitting down. The music was totally wicked...haven't heard anything that good anywhere in a while. The decorations were great. The people were cool. The only thing I'd change would be the heat. Even standing in front of the fan (the one named Sarah) I found it hard to breathe. That place needs an outdoor patio! Another cool part was watching the window vibrating from all the bass and the curtain/hanging over the opening in the corner jumping to the beat. It looked like a huge speaker.
Thanks to all the people I met for helping me have the best time ever. Hope to see you all at the next one.
