Trophy Twins and Rob Tissera are pretty hard rather than funky but Tim Deluxe is sound and has some wicked stuff on soulseek- for more funky tru looking at some Krafty Kuts which is pretty borderline but crazy stuff and some of it is fairly funky too.

Check people like Mark Knight, Lottie, Yousef, Jon Marsh. That should lead you towards proper UK funky house, though if you're looking for stuff like Tissera et al, well can't help ya.

ohhhhh dear people

check out funkissential the best funky house night out in the UK according to mixmag for 2003
http://www.funkissential.com/

see who is playing and you will see both the trophey twins and rob tissera listed

I know rob tissera plays hard dance but he also plays funky house same as eddie halliwell. But the trophey twins do not play hard house or hard dance dont know where you got that info.

However, i will admit that rob tissera does play funky on the harder side of funky house.

but i will look it on soul seek then
cheers
PS

Maybe Tissera and trophy Twins because they play Sundissential and this is a spin off so they just try and play funky rather than harder.....

or maybe you're right and Im wrong

i'm sorry but i don't look to mixmag -- or even the UK --
for proper and consistent catagorization of music,
considering they used to drop the word "house"
for even pop music with a 4-to-the-floor beat and
came up with the hoorendously ill-named uk hard
house, despite the fact that it was more trance
than house.

Mixmag could call the Twins "booty-bottom-shaker-sex"
music for all i care....

so there.

whatever you are american who cares what you think ??? you gave us britney spears and back street boys. I think you have done far more the to musical detriment of world society then the brits with perhaps a differnt musical catogarization.
Also american over classify everything. I once new this fellow who told me he played soulfull funky minimalist tribal house. Way too much of classification if you ask me and it sounded more like soulfull house then anything. however i think he felt good about his little niche that he had.
But......
Just kidding but i get quick to anger when people dis hard dance as that is my fortay

Also i remember meeting these girls from newyork who had some strange issues about american classifcations of music. i told her how we were going to see carl cox and asked her if she wanted to come. She was like wow what kinda music does he play?

SO i said techno

She was like Ok but what kinda techno?
so i was like well depends usally funky stuff.

ok she said but like is it trance techo or house techno or jungle techno? to which me and several other lads started busting our gut laffing too

which she did not quite get.

Long story short we left her there and i was forever distressed at yanki classifications of music. So i think you should give the brits a one up on thier classifcation of hard house. Also for the most part only canucks and yanks call it UK hard house. Everyone else calls it hard dance.

So i suppose we should blame ourselves for that one

Ha ha it's like that with "coke" too.

In some southern state I was passing through, I asked the waitress for a coke.

And she said "What kind?"

I'm thinking "well, there's diet...regular...classic...caffiene free?"

Apparently, in that community they use the word "Coke" to describe any kind of carbonated beverage.

odd, innit?

And boo-tay works because it's not really pronounced like that...

Forte does sound like For-tay...so it looks more like a typo than urban-cool.

I'll ask my uk peeps for some uk funky links.

I like he way this was more of a debate than people shouting others down and not being able to hear their opinions and learn from them. We all have different experiences and just because Im English doesnt mean that Im right, or because Swilly went to North England (favourite of hard house) it doesnt mean that he is right. If only more things on tribe could be this way.
