Would those dJ's listed on torontobreaks.com site be interested in dJing on a torontobreaks internet radio program?
Im not talking about a new martymcfly or dmonic show..
but dJshows.com is interested in having breaks on its channel
and has approached 'jamie' about it....
who in turn ask me for some help.

btw, Im not really interested in organizing all this..
I dont want to be the "host"
Im just the messenger
and I would gladly dJ a 60 set if asked.
I think the show length would be 2 hours weekly.
so 2 dJ's different dJ's everyweek..

This show will be starting up this week, and will run every live every Thursday (March 21) evening from 8PM - 10PM, as well as being archived for one week. We will be having a large variety of DJs on the show. We would like to give everyone some air time, if possible. In addition, we will have the odd out of towner on the show. It will be hosted by Jamie, and occasionally myself.

This week, we have myself alongside Meric (aka "Twist", aka "fart-knocker"), and possibly Marty McFly (if he's feeling better).

I'll have the early set cuz I gotta scoot down to Milano's to help set up the 2x4.

I still think those of you who posted are missing the point.
Except for JEN.. cuz shes never wrong j/k,
The website is called torontobreaks.com not torontopot.com.
You should focus only on the dJ's/producers listed on the website.
Talking about pot has nothing to do with the dJs listed
on the torontobreaks website.

you're not wrong.. that was my show doperadio
But since I was canceled from the 1groove.com,
I've spent the past week getting all the equipment
I need to continue on my own.
I already have a shared studio/office space to broadcast from.
I even have 2 (confirmed) show sponsors and yes
one of them is chills.. (gotta love the free stuff they give me)
They've been with me since the beginning.
This is my pet project I started nearly 2 years ago
and like the saying goes.. doperadio forever.
thats the difference here.
Ill be starting that again during the last week of march.
not sure which date exactly, but Ill make a post about it.
and tell you the link at that time..





now the reason for this other breaks show
is because of jamie from torontobreaks.com
He just asked me for help & so im helping him get this started.
thats what friends do.
This is why torontobreaks should be about the dJs
& not about the pot... I cant stress that point enough.
BIGLEAGUECHU, DMONIC, ROBBG, don't smoke weed.
I'm sure they don't want that association either.

FO SHEEZY! Well tonite's the first nite and I'm pretty hyped. It's gonna be fly by wire for a while until we can actually get some people giving us info to relay to you guys but we have a pretty good idea of where to start so it'll be aiight. Angus will be playing between 8-9 and then I'll be takin over. Then next week it'll be me and Marty doin the fandango. The week after that will be Willar X and myself doin a tag team to get a feel for how we're gonna throwdown at The Four Elements party that weekend with Dj Somsay from Montreal. I'm basically gonna be promoting any brekas nite that I know of and for now I'm just getting my info off flyers and tribe. But in future we'll have an email setup at Torontobreaks where promoters can send us relevant info. We're still not sure how often the show will air on the radio I guess it depends on listener response but as we find out so will you. As well while the focus of the show will be on Toronto Breaks I'm planning on using say 10-15 minutes to talk about any major issues that affect the Toronto breaks scene, which granted is not exactly pulitzer material but it should help out locals. I'm talkin about doin small party reviews, pertinent info that comes through eastern bloc, any major djs that come through town etc. Hopefully in the future we'll get some live interviews with people coming through town.

I'm not exactly in charge but what I see the goal of this show being is support, discussion and exposure of all things breaks in toronto. Almost like a news report on breaks but with a solid helping of tunes (new/old/funky/hard/garage/yada/yada) We're also planning on keeping the dj rotation heavy and lots of co-hosts to keep it fresh. SO anyways that's my take on the whole thing.

Lastly I just gotta thank Miguel from Whitelabel promotions and Jamie from Toronto breaks for hookin a goofy white beat junkie up

if i remember correctly, the yada yada sub-genre of breaks started as a response to the huge number of tracks that had non-sensical vocal samples.
yada producers decided to increase the intelligent presence of human voices completely by taking poetry, short stories, even political speeches (who could forget winston churchills massive breakdown and buildup in his battle of britain speech?) and put them overtop of sick, funky ass beats.
a couple of the best yada yada tracks to come out in a long time have done a way with beats altogether, and are merely vocals....some of which are ingeniously printed on paper and called books!!!!
one of my favorite producers, dj douglas adams, has just re-released a box set of his best tracks ever printed as books......the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy series! brilliant stuff, and perhaps the pinnacle of the evolution of the yada sound.
