Toronto Film Fest group needs receptionist

The Toronto International Film Festival Group, a vibrant not-for-profit arts organization is hiring for the full-time position of:


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations, this position will be responsible for overseeing a busy Reception area, managing incoming callers and visitors to the Toronto International Film Festival Group.


. Answer and direct all phone calls to appropriate staff members;

. Greet visitors and volunteers entering the office, ensuring all parties sign-in;

. Receive, date and distribute all incoming mail and faxes;

. Perform other office administration duties, as assigned.

Start Date: April 19, 2006

This is a full-time position with a 3-month probationary period.

Minimum Requirements:

. Previous work experience in a receptionist role.

. Previous experience answering a multi-line phone system considered an asset.

. Excellent phone manners, focused on maintaining a pleasant demeanor.

. Excellent communications skills.

. Excellent customer service skills, including an ability to deal with individuals with tact and diplomacy.

. Ability to maintain order and ensure a secure environment.

. Demonstrated ability to maintain calm within a stressful environment.

. Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends for key events during the year.
