...the title was not to meant to be as profound as the meaning of the name, but it sure is fun to say - it rolls right off the tongue in so many fun ways...

here's what it actually means.

UNKULUNKULU (sometimes spelled Nkulunkulu) was the creator of all things. He grew out of a reed and when he became too heavy he fell to earth. This word also means "ancestor" in the Zulu language.

Unkulunkulu, Zulu: "Old, Old One." Unkulunkulu was both the first man and the creator, a god of the earth who had no traffic with the heavens. Unkulunkulu showed men how to live together and gave them knowledge of the world in which they lived.

UNKULUNKULU - The sky god of the Zulu, he is a self- originating deity, very little is known about him. He made men and the earth, and brought death to earth. Once he sent a chameleon with the message of eternal life, and a lizard with the announcement of death. The chameleon was slow and stopped at a bush to eat, so the lizard arrived first. When the chameleon arrived at last, it found that the message of the lizard had already been accepted as the correct one by men.Unkulunkulu instituted the ceremony of marriage, provided men with doctors for the treatment of diseases, and fire for the preparation of food.

well, i don't know which record shops sell mixed cds and tapes anymore - i asked at ebloc, and they said it was a no-go...

when you say analog, do mean cassette? that can easily be arranged, if i can find 74 min blanks.... i'll have cd's sometime next week, but before then, a streaming version will be on twelveinch.com sometime this week (its being upped right now).

cheers!

i listened to this tonight and found it quite enjoyable. it's a different sound from most of the stuff that i've been hearing lately -- a welcome change. it's well mixed and flows nicely. i was pretty impressed to see that you fit 29 tracks into 74 min!

thanks mate - that certainly was the intention - to create a set with a sound that i just haven't heard before..

at one point i had slated 35 tracks for this mix, but had to cut it down -- maybe with 3 decks, but not 2.

cheers,
tommy

ps. i'm going to try and bring a few CD's to milano's on thursday
