Geez... I think a clear case of ideology leading someone to a poorly thought out statement... feel bad for the guy cause I think he was thinking in a classically libertarian way about the whole issue, not really thinking all the way through of course since child pornography, by definition, requires the abuse of children to make it (unless animated or illustrated - which is where Flanagan would have been on firmer, but still shakey ground).

Lesson learned people. Ideological principles are fine, but don't make them a suicide pact! Flanagan did, and now he burned up all his prospects as a result!

He was a funny guy - i think i'll miss him on power and politics - I did appreciate his advocacy for personal liberty on issues like the drug war... would have preferred the controversy be over THAT than how it did go down...

Still he deserves it I guess - stupid comments especially w/ video recording going on...

I agree, 100% he always had a pretty good view point, even if I didnt always agree. Still, this could have been handled better.

i think he may have had a interesting point to make, he just didn't convey it very effectively.
