Ok I have been to footwork about 5 times since it opened and this was the first time I enjoyed myself in the space.

I really like what they've done in terms of arrangement and sound. To me that just means good ownership that is willing to reinvest in it's product so good job to those involved.

as for Timo he played alot of solid track for most of the night, I wish i could have stayed longer but I had to split.

as usual it was great to see one of my oldest friends still tending bar:D

Thanks for all the vids Nick! I wasn't in town but I'm glad I'm able to hear (some) of how it went.

I hadn't been to FW in quite some time, and it was nice to head back and somehow each night there is a little bit better than the last.

Walked in to a busy spot and I believe it was Simon Jain on and he had the room bumpin' along nicely, and smoothly into JK who played some great tech.

Would lie if I said I wasn't getting excited to see Timo as I enjoyed his sound from 99-2003ish and Ubik (The Dance) still remains one of my fav tracks of all time.

I enjoyed the rollercoaster ride he took the crowd on and it seemed like he was havin' a great time up there himself.

Sounds like a nice set, dope techno/tech-house beats!

Wish I had been to this now :(

If it makes you feel any better I thought it was total fucking shit. Brutal mixing (if at all) boring fucking tracks and an otherwise totally uninspired performance. I wasn't the only one either...

That was not a (good) techno set.

yeah the music in those videos is hella plodding. obviously it's impossible to judge a whole night on a couple vids, but boring and uninspired is the vibe i'm getting

some of this year's best nights were at footwork though. Johnny D and Jimpster were definite highlights

I see hardly any emotion from the guy while he's playing in those videos lol. Thanks for the insight on the mixing Chaos, I don't feel as bad about missing out!

Contrary to my normal self, i was gonna keep my trap shut on this matter, however, you honestly did not miss out, imo.

It was a fun night, everyone in there was dancing till the end, it got super busy after 2am and the vibe was fun.

Sure it wasn't the best night out ever but I think you're being a bit critical. If you didn't have fun there that night you were the minority.

personally I was upset that the dj didn't do somersaults while mixing and there was no Jesus pose.

Yeah the no Jesus pose was one detractor for me that night

This was my first experience at footwork as I am normally not in Toronto anymore so I have to say I have nothing to base it on for past shows but I had a great time.
The Staff were friendly but quick at the bar. The dancefloor was full of energetic people and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
As for the music I thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed Jamie Kidds track selection more than Timo Maas' but had a great time dancing to both.

I could really give a flying fucking about the 'vibe' and the fact that other people were enjoying themselves; that doesn't mean I share their affinity for badly mixed and boring music.

I am totally being critical because I had elevated expectations for this night and was hoping for a proper TECHNO set. That, I'm afraid, was not what was delivered.

Anyway, like I said, I wasn't even going to say anything but figured i'd let PAUZE know a divergent opinion.

You (and others) enjoyed the music, more power to ya'll. It didn't ruin my night or anything, I was just expecting something more entertaining.
