great party.
mstrkrft were great.
tiga was stellar....i love that dirty electro sound!
the folks i went with all had a great time...for 2 of them it was their first time going to an electronic show, and they danced all night long.

saw many friends there...joel, baha, classics, swinging-singing-samira, scoring-heat-dave, jonny-the-electronic-hippy-party-machine, the macphearsons, etc. awesome fun!

great visuals, great sound, great tunes, great friends, great mood = great time!

BRING ON THE HACKER!

Good times all around! Got in from work on Friday in a bit of a mood, and almost keboshed my Tiga plans in favour of having a quiet night alone at home - au contraire, mon frere - a night of Tiga goodness was exactly what the doctor ordered. I don't think I stopped moving for even a moment of the glorious hours we were there.

Thought the crowd was more than decent, and the tunes were kickass.

Nice to meet mikeryan and his lovely lady, and tackon, too. :)

I was well overdue for a proper night of it, and couldn't have asked for more.

That was a grrrrrrrrrrrrreat party.

funnnnnn.... !

must say i was pleased!

a good crowd, nice decor and visuals... great sound! walked in to mstrkrft taking the decks and rocking it proper and much the same from tiga... nice chunks of proper techno throughout as well (that mix of 'hot in herre' with plastikman...sick!).

wasn't sure what to expect and had a great time!

the dogs bollocks for sure.

He played a bunch of wacky edits.

One that worked particularly well were the vocals layered over Digitalism's 'Starlight'.

MSTRKFT blew me away...I totally wasn't expecting it. Bomb after bomb...I felt like I was at a big room party circa '99. Rollin' and Scratchin' even!! Wow.
Tiga was on point too...lotta big tunes mixed with his hits. Kind of a concert vibe when he was on the decks...it was pretty amusing to see the hipster kids cheer like there was a band on stage. Such a weird mish mash of people...but everyone was going off! It was great to see.

This jam totally exceeded my expectations...filthy tunes and great vibe.

how long is it going to take for people to stop being suspicious of laptop based sets?
it seem like every single time someone plays a big gig using a laptop they get accused of cheating.

(not directed at you ev, just your informant)

There were some great costumes, including flight attendants, swimsuit girl, and one guy decked out in ALL neon late 80's/early 90's gear.

word... just asking others that may have seen.. not accusing.. i wasn't even there. person i spoke to said they had a laptop going.. and were playing and changing records.. but said they watched very closely and they never once touched the pitch control... perhaps the person that said this was mistaken... I don't know.. which is why i was asking.

Day 4 A.T. and my heart is still aflutter…what a phenomenal show!!! I can’t really speak for mstrkrft (as I missed most of their performance) but TIGA was absolutely breathtaking.

I LOVE NEON events are always colourful and fun, attracting a diverse crowd…and this show was no exception.

Tiga’s set was jammed full of his funky, splendid tracks - a no-fail ensemble that rocked hard from beginning to end….and had the dance floor groovin right til the ugly lights came on.

Mod Club is a great dance hall-y space – lots of room to dance, sit and chill. DJ table was set-up in the middle of the stage – with “put in ur pocket cute” Tiga visible to all.

Folks were friendly and polite…nothing like those at TIL. There were a couple of attitudes but they only added to the feel of the evening. Staffers were friendly and helpful, providing great service….who knew they served up Moosehead on tap!?

Gold medal goes to Poot for dancing in her 4-inch gold snakeskin stilettos for 4+ hours WITHOUT STOCKINGS and not getting a single blister.

We missed Skipper…but will definitely do it up another time (possibly in Montreal!?)

I would SO recreate this evening anytime anywhere!!! Thank you to whomever made this evening possible...I am truly appreciative.

i know that when i played a gig with mstrkrft, they ended up mixing within serrato rather than using the turntables, because the decks were skipping too much.
that's possibly what your friend was confused by.
