yeah it's me - for the few of you who remember me.

haven't been on for a while but last time i was around i remember this discussion about the two little fucking cock suckers who skinned the cat alive and labeled their cruelty 'art'.

for those of you who don't know - judgement has been passed. here's a snippit from an article on canoe.com. if this has already been posted i do apoligise.

TORONTO (CP) -- Animal-rights activists were outraged Thursday after a man convicted of skinning and torturing a live cat was freed from jail and his accomplice was sentenced to what they considered a "grounding."

Anthony Wennekers, 25, was sentenced to the time he has already served in the downtown Don Jail since his arrest almost a year ago.

Jesse Power, 22, was sentenced to 90 days' jail time to be served on weekends, plus house arrest requiring him to stay in his home except to attend school and work, followed by three years on probation.

Both men were charged with cruelty to animals and mischief. The cruelty charge carries a maximum sentence of six months; the mischief charge, a maximum of two years. The Crown sought a 21/2-year sentence for both Power and Wennekers.

Their sentencing follows a trial in which a gruesome videotape of their crimes was played to the courtroom, bringing spectators to tears.

For 15 minutes, the men and one other, who remains at large, hung a cat by its neck from a telephone cord, slit its throat, stabbed, kicked and skinned it. They then plucked out its eye with a dental tool and ripped off its ear with a pair of pliers.

To gasps of horror, Ontario Court Judge Ted Ormston told the packed, tearful courtroom Thursday he didn't sentence the men to the maximum time allowed because he felt their crime was not the worst offence possible.

"There are worse ways that this cat could have died," said Ormston, who took more than two weeks to deliberate the sentence.

"I find the cat died a cruel death at the hands of these men, but I do not find it was the worst offence."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

the names of those two fuckers is printed right there - clear as the sky is blue. i would encourage any and all in the toronto area to track these little bitches down and deliver some actual justice.

although it is grotesque and cruel, that was not their intention.

they believe and feel their art has/had a purpose
their intent was to execute their art as they had planned

their intent wasnt necessarily to just skin a cat. it had purpose.

the purpose you ask? who knows, its been clouded up now with the way the media has spun this story.

anyways...meh
just playing devil's advocate

ps: hi miss mew! was wondering where you were.

i'm calling BULLSHIT. there is no artistic value whatsoever in:

"For 15 minutes, the men and one other, who remains at large, hung a cat by its neck from a telephone cord, slit its throat, stabbed, kicked and skinned it. They then plucked out its eye with a dental tool and ripped off its ear with a pair of pliers."

and they dam well knew that from the start. and if they truely are stupid enough to not get that - then somebody needs to rescue them from their own stupidity.

it deminishes the true value of art to claim that this cruel torture and murder is such.

i'm all for artistic expression. if you wanna roll around in elephant shit and call it art - fine. if you wanna pile used tampons up into a big ole bloody pile and call it art - fine - i can dig it.

but murder, torture of an innocent, defensless animal - never has that ever been, nor will it ever be, art and i ain't gonna buy it for a second - and neither should anyone else!

Here's a cool idea for another shot at artistic freedom. Take Powers and Wankerboy to the zoo and throw them in with the tigers.

I agree that it's cruel and question the validity of this "art", but animals are killed everyday.
The only reason this got any attention is because it was a cat.

If these guys were actually sentenced to 2 years in prison, does that mean everyone that works in a slaughterhouse should be arrested as well?

but animals are killed humanely in slaughterhouses aren't they?

i heard they are given a nice massage on the forehead with a pneumatic sledgehammer...sounds relaxing to me!

What was the point of death for the cat? I'm just curious if the gruesome stuff they did like the eye-poking was after its death. Then it wouldn't be quite as bad, but its still totally fucked up to kill an animal in any way other than the quickest and least painful. On top of that, I don't believe in killing animals for any purpose beyond its better well-being or as a source of food.

If they did all that cruel shit while the cat was alive, yes, I'd be all for seeing those guys thrown to tigers.

i just signed a petition at the pet store today for harsher laws relating to animal creulity. hopefully it will draw some attention and get some things changed. nothing upsets me quite as much as animal creulity.
