Capro (aka Chris Blake) grew up immersed in Hip Hop culture. His initial influences focus on East Coast jazz and funky break beats. Trying his hand at graffiti, breakdancing, and MCing, Chris found his most natural talent was tastefully selecting music, so he settled on DJing. Later on, exposure to raves and artists such as 4hero, Goldie, and LTJ Bukem got Chris locked onto the jungle scene, which he continues to follow and promote the best he can. What Chris seeks out are works with strong rhythmical complexities and blues elements.

Most recently, Chris has turned his attention to another style sometimes referred to as Broken Beat, Nu Jazz, or even Bruk Step. Pioneers of this sound include I.G. Culture from West London, as well as 4hero, Seiji and Domu from the Reinforced Label who began their producing careers pushing break beats in the jungle scene. Although this genre has many stylistic freedoms, it is usually agreed to be most related to Hip Hop music.
