Discovery has lost me as a viewer. The plot is boring and I find it really hard to sympathize with or identify with any of the characters. The characters just suck IMO. The captain had some promise at the beginning but even he has become meh.

The Orville is the Star Trek that Discovery isn't.

Orville is also a hit with us, hits some great notes that make you feel as if you are watching an alternate TnG thats funnier

TnG spawned like 3 spinoff series that mined the same ground, it's better that Orville does so with a twist and that Discovery is breaking fresh ground IMO

Evils twins are so cliche
The one thought I had is the butterfly effect would have been so huge over in the parallel universe, no guarantee the same people would even be in each one. In fact chances would be everyone's lives would have been so different, people in different places at different times, people dying at different times. Like if you ever thought "if WWII didn't happen, I maybe wouldn't exist" it's that kind of thing.. My grandparents wouldn't have met right??

But I'm a go with it viewer so i go with it while I'm watching, just had this thought after...

So now we're back in the right universe minus Bad Lorca, plus Bad Georgiou. Hope they settle down on the story line a bit now but probably not.

Discovery has some serious problems.
For someone who isn't even an officer anymore, Michael pretty much ran shit and disobeys orders way too much. This isn't the star fleet I know and love.
The whole Michael - Ash romance was... stupid. And that one episode where she tells Lt. Stamets shes never been in love? What the shit. It's the 24th century. Who CARES. Ugh.

Don't even start with me on the ship itself. Super sci-fi. But the communicators? Rustic. Transport? Way more techy than like.. any other trek show. It doesn't belong. I mean, look at the screens they use on board. And the holograms for communications across star systems (don't even start with me on that). But the communicator? AA battery powered.

Out of all the writers in hollywood, you would think you could find a bunch of Trekkers

After Discovery I watched Enterprise (I pines for Tpol), now I am working my way through Voyager.
They are all very different to be sure.
I didn't really like Voyager when it was on tv, but I am finding it very good now.

Next comes DS9 which i really haven't seen at all - I hope it's OK.

Aw man sounds as though they're going to Star Wars this into the ground, headfirst.
I say this as a lifelong superfan but they need to do more with less.

Also Enterprise was robbed.
Ya gimme new shit instead.

Expanse stuff, maybe more Richard Morgan books could be used too.

Trek and Wars are both long in the tooth - and Trek has an active reboot going I kind of dig. Why do I need MORE trek??

Bezos for Prez!

It’s official: Amazon has saved The Expanse

I have just started watching DS9 because I haven't seen it yet. So far I am not too impressed. First off, the crew chemistry is very weird - they all seem worried. Not about attacking aliens or other plot points but they seem kind of tentative about their roles or unconvinced the show will last more than a few episodes. The captain, in particular, is lacking something. Charisma I think.

Also, there is no mega hot alien babe on the DS9 cast. Dax is kind of cute but has the personality of a starfish.

Quark seems to be the only character that projects.

Deep Space 9 seems very meh so far.

Quark doesn't waitresses until a couple seasons in, although I think they're supposed to be for the casino games. One of them is pure sci-fi nerd candy.
