the majority of listeners for most of these stations actually come from overseas.

i wasn't saying that having 3 internet radio stations was a bad thing...it just struck me as a high number. I just know Ottawa and MTL(the two cities i've lived in for so far) don't have any...and in MTL anyways, 'electronic' music is fairly mainstream. So i was wondering-is it just that Toronto's DJs/promoters have got it together and are utilizing it as an effective tool...or is it common to have internet radio shows in other large cities?

And if you guys are getting overseas listeners...wikkid! I have no problem with people getting respect when its due-'specially the Canadian talent.

i think gunark was referring to the bitrate...the stream was 24 kbps, which ain't great considering cd quality is about 160-192 kbps

yah - i dunno how you select a stream though...i clicked on "listen now" and thats what i got...maybe a second link needs to be posted in the news to get that rolling.

Btw, the studio has ICQ as well so people can chat with the dj's...tommy took full advantage of that and constantly bombarded up with questions about what tracks we were playing. Great enthusiasm there, killer!

Kumi caught the end of our show this week too and was delightfully entertained by our crooning of 'Wooly Booly'. There's a whole 60's market that remains untapped in the techno industry!
