mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMmmm !

I am still full from yesterday ! :D

took Kadina out for dinner last night... and it was a GREAT experience.

it's on Kennedy Rd. just north of steeles on the east side...

walk in... beautiful atmosphere.

it's an 'all you can eat' type dealy... and it's roughly $18/person.

one section of the place... it's like a refridgerated buffet... you walk around with a bowl.. and select your meats. You can choose from beef, pork, chicken or lamb. Then you add all the veggies and stuff... noodles... all sorts of extras... and then you choose from 5 pre-made sauces... or.. you can make your own from a wide variety of ingredients.

Then you walk over to a huge ass grill.... that's registered at over 600 degrees... and the chef takes your bowl.. throws it onto this super hot grill... and cooks it in front of you in seriously... 45 SECONDS !

.. walked back to our seats with steaming bowls in hand... and yeah... fucking incredible. mmmmmmm.

there's also a salad bar... and a chinese style buffet... rice..noodles.. veggies... rolls... etc..etc... dim sum....

and then for dessert... it was again... 'make your own'! The shaved ice with so many toppings to choose from... the condensed milk and liquid sugar.... cappucino... strawberries... taro... chinese plum jelly... etc..etc...

I wasn't too fond of that... but yeah... it didn't matter... cuz everything else was definitely great ! I had like 4 big ass bowls of food... and I was fucking STUFFED !

waddled out of there... one happy man.

I would recommend this place to anyone !

:)

I was just up there yesterday at Market Village. I parked just in front of there and i was eyeing the restaurant....I even pointed it out to my bf and told him that's where i used to go when it was Union Station.

So that good eh???

there's one of those here, too.

but for the extra-trendy whistler-ness off it all, they call it

"mongolie grill"

edit: and it's fucking really good.

I don't think mongolian grill is all that.

I've tried now possible every combination of meat, noddles, sauces etc... and the end result always tastes the same as the last one.

I think the big grill is tainted.

EWWWWWW....

Mongolian Grill should be called MONGOLIAN ASS...

Though, admittedly, it's good for cleaning out your bowels quite rapidly. Maybe if the cooks washed their hands after jerking off it would not spread the E.coli and whatnot...

this is true. although, if you use LOTS of sauce and season it properly (ie. not just on top of the giant heap) then you can get a slight change in taste.

but still, the mongolian grill is the shizznit.

Mongolie Grill is a chain...

It's $$$ but it's SUPER good :)
The one here in Whistler had 50% off for locals not too long ago so it was alright!

Maybe one of the reasons evey combination tastes the same is the type of oil the chef uses on the big grill? Just a thought... but I know when I cook in my wok I alternate the types of oil, be it sesame, hot oil, penut oil, etc. for differnt tastes to things.

I fully agree with you. The first few time were good, but after a while, no matter how different your combinations are, it all tastes the same.
