the problem with what rampage says there is that if he wants to fight Rashad, he pretty much has to go right back into a training camp (after about a week off) in order to be ready for the may 23rd date.

so either he goes straight back into training (which he has stated he doesn't want to do) or Machida gets that fight.

Yves Lavigne admits his mistake in an interview with the Sudbury Times:

"I did let Mr. Sell take maybe -- not maybe -- I let him take a beating for absolutely nothing," he told The Canadian Press. "So I didn't do my job properly. So basically, I screwed up. I screwed up and I'm going to learn from it and try not to do it again. ... I'm going to make sure not to do it again."

Up until the Sell/Brown fight I'd always held Yves in pretty high regard compared to other refs like quick-stop Mazzagatti, and I'm glad he's owned up to his mistake and will be able to learn from it, because going back on a call like that is a pretty big deal when you're responsible for the safety of these fighters.

Big ups to Yves for admitting the mistake. He said he checked on Sell after the fight and he was fine.

Also, I hope the commission tells BJ to F off.

I love the Machida v. Sugar match. Either we get to see a Machida v. Rampage title match after, which would be very interesting, or at least Rashad will have some more credibility if he wins.

Also, for some reason I am laughing at Ken Shamrock for testing positive to roids and being suspended for a year. Tough luck buddy.

Penn is an idiot.

Shamrock is equally an idiot.

Rampage isn't ducking Rashad - that's a short camp right after going 3 rounds with Jardine.

Machida vs. Rashad will be fun and it's way overdue IMO - WAR MACHIDA!!! Come on, don't let me and Drury be the only one on the Machida Train!

And yeah, Louie - Vera looked great! Must have dropped Hagen-Daaz as a major sponsor. His opponent wasn't top notch, which mad Vera look all the better, but I still have great expectations for Vera.

Did anyone catch Aoki's fight in Dream 7? His goofball opponent (what a waste of a fight) thought the ground fighting was "boring" and decided to showboat and say "Hello Japan!" while Aoki had his back...needless to say, that was all the opening Aoki needed to choke the doofus out.

Other than that, there were some interesting fights in Dream 7, but it was an overall lackluster card - a rarity for me in that promotion.

What?! That means we'll probably never see Shamrock vs. Tank Abbott since they'll both be almost 50 by next year. :(

It would have been the MMA equivalent to a Hulk Hogan vs. Honky Tonk Man match (taking place today - not 10 years ago).

WAR MACHIDA

Machida wins and then literally gets to kick the shit out of Rampage. Sorry, Quentin doesnt stand a chance agaisnt the mad ass skillz of THE MACHIDA!

I really don't think Rampage is going to stand for that lay and pray BS. I would take out multiple life insurance policies if I were Machida.

I'm another one of those people who thinks Machida is much more deserving of a title shot than Page at this point, and I've actually been turning the corner on him since before that last fight (probably since he beat Tito ;) ).

It won't have nearly as many PPV buys as Evans vs. Jackson, but it'll be a really intriguing fight and I'm curious to see what kind of magic Greg Jackson whips together as a game plan.

My prediction for Machida-Evans is a boring fight that will eventually end in a decision win for Machida.

There was a somewhat interesting discussion on Shercat about the scarcity of hits that Machida has taken in his career. If you watch his old fights, you notice that he doesn't take more than one or two solid hits per match.

Evans is going to have to get some takedowns, using his wrestling skills and hopes he accumulates enough points, otherwise Machida just evades him in the standing game and picks up points with accurate striking.

The Machida haters seem to forget that he has a Black Belt in Ju-Jits, Black Belt in Karate and takes the fewest hits in UFC history.

Tough order to handle if you ask me. Jackson would probably end up with a broken left left agaisnt Machida. Evans will be a tougher fight for him for sure. Machida by TKO is my prediction.
