this is north america not europe after all.... the line-up is certainly nothing to sneeze at :p

tronic threw a similar party last year at demf, and the line-up was just as sweet...

those heading down to miami for the music conference should definitely check this one out (if only to make the rest of us jealous afterwards) ;)

.meh.

that lineup is ok,
the only one who really interest me is Chris Liebing and Jamie Anderson. The rest I dunno...it looks like an old pHryL or Blue lineup to me. Guess I've been technospoiled?

@m-
that Glasgow party sounds amazing!

if only i lived in europe... *sigh*

I wish......

Man that line up looks soooo good to me. There is something about spending my days on the beach in the sun, and my nights seeing djs like that, I could get very used to. I have to make it to Miami some how. Meh.... Next year.

How funny-
move that party from Miami to here in Toronto- and you'll get 10 people showing up, and one of them will be wondering when oakenfold it going on.

sigh

Here's the flyer... It does look like an amazing party!
I think it is great that these promoters continue to throw parties.... Also cool that these djs have been to Toronto thanks to certain individuals continuing to do things here- Blue bookings, etc...
And it is such a little yet big techno community- I've never been to Miami WMC but it must be great to see so many people working in the industry together.

(Utopic view; you also have to put up with crap I guess for that week... the things about the 'scene' that are not so nice!)

Other cool parties for techno I noticed was the Gigolo America party- w./ Tiga, Miss Kitten and the Hacker, and Linda Lamb, etc...

And the Detroit meets Miami BBQ...

Adios
(dreaming of sun- there's lots of snow on the ground now- here)

Destro: you are mad spoiled! and this is coming from me (the guy who's skipped out on Krome, May, Carola, Schumacher etc. this year alone!)

While its true Anderson and Leibing are the main highlights... but that's still two excellent acts in one night. Plus I've never seen Jel Ford before nor Marco Bailey (i skipped him last week too)... and while Funk D'Void sucked last time I saw him (in Toronto incidently) I've heard he's ill too. Youse just old and jaded ;)

Hardtekfunk: Uhhh... the stuff I've listened to of Justin Berkovi I would classify as 'different' techno while the stuff I've heard of Altern 8's has been old ravey gravey hardcore breakbeat...wtf!?

hey, what's wrong with ravey gravey hardcore? :p

i too, would love to go to this party. sadly, i only ever made it to two pHryL parties, and at the first i hardly listened to the techno, because i was being a 'true junglist' in the other room.

oh well. there will be more techno parties, with more techno, better dnb, and a better attitude from me.

That's exactly why this would be so dope! I don't want to be able to play 'name that tune'! Do you remember when you went out and never recognized a single song? That's fresh music, man. I miss those days...it was like being a kid in a candy store!

Altern8 would just be so wonderfully nostalgic for the days of partying that I missed out on but heard about in the scene's 'history lessons'. I'm sure they aren't just doing the same thing now, but it'd be great to see what they've become and hear some old stuff in the mix.

The whole Cocoon clan (Sven Vath, Justin Berkovi, Tube Jerk, Si Begg, etc...) are really hitting on a fresh twist to techno again - evolution keeps things interesting! While Berkovi's old stuff was just nuts (fucked up time signatures all over the place), his works from the most recent years have taken more consideration into the dancefloor (because of course, that's where the party people be at!). This whole wave of highly intricate and produced techno that's still made for layering and creating is really pushing the envelope as far as I'm concerned. It's that extra push to really know your tracks, but it isn't so simple as progressive house or whatever where the track is so full, you can just let it play on it's own. Our technology is increasing and thus our ways to interpret the music are as well.

Tech snobbery ... meh

Hell, I'd be happy to be at either event, bring them here!
Under-attendance gives me more room to dance.
