TBK Camping Trip. (thread #1)

Good Afternoon fellow Tribers!
And welcome to your spring!!!! :D
Are you ready for the summer?

This is a heads-up to let everyone know that I will soon be getting off my ass to organize a TBK camping trip to one of our fabulous provincial parks. I know a cottage adventure might be in the works, but THIS IS CAMPING, YO! This is roughing it in the open-air, the campfires, the friends, the weed. You know, the whole dilly. ;)

This thread is just to get an idea of who would be interested in such an activity. Capacity would be close to 70 people, all in the same vicinity. This is a relatively cheap endeavour. All will be planned and more info will follow. Naturally, everyone is invited, but the first to pay, will be the first reserved. More info to follow.

Feel free, and I invite you to, e-mail me, PM me, or post here, your interest and date preferences. As well as any suggestions.

Thanks! :)

Ming.

Probably within 2 hours of the city.
I know a park, that allows for group camping, to a capacity of 80 people.
It's all good fun!
For those of you who haven't enjoyed group camping.....oh boy! :)

i'm sorry, i love the outdoors but i fucking hate camping with a large group. there is always a certain percentage of people who do nothing to contribute but sit around complaining that the eggs aren't the way they like them or fucking off to 'play' even though none of the dishes are done, there's no water, no firewood, and it looks like it's going to rain.

also, even the well intentioned relatively hard working types, often do not know enough about camping to know what they should be doing to set up and maintian a campsite and they work hard at the wrong things.

i've already got two trips into the algonquin interior planned for may, no more than 4 people on each. anything else is too unwieldy to plan properly.

For sure... Jay, cri and I have already been discussing it... I think we had tried to get you in last year on our camping trip?!? we ended up NOT going to algonquin cause there was a fireban there and went to this place thats NOT a park but a 40 minute trek into the woods.. camped beside a natural waterfall that kinda went into a whirlpool that you can chill in an stuff :) it was fuN!

Cheers,
Dave

Martin: we can convince the Corinner!
Rosey: I hear, but re-consider. This ain't gonna be that crazy. No one is asking you to cook for them, this will be somewhat of an "everyone on their own site" thing. :) And you can always buy wood.

i see your point. my beef is with the camping style that some of my friends prefer, getting two sites side by side, 14-16 people, shared meals etc. always hell IMO. drives me nuts.

on the other hand...how cool would booking all the sites on a lake in the algonquin interior be? or even on a lake that you can basically drive to?

i will remain dubious until further details are posted. :)
