who would it be...you were gonna set out on your own with hopes to be a superstar(or artistically you could stay indie and get MAD respect for what you do)...who's voice and flow would you scoop up and make your own??

I'll take either kool keith or J-treds

i read a great article in Elemental mag once.

The author said that too much flow is when you aren't always on beat, but rap in a flowing singing voice (much like nelly, ja rule etc...) and that the opposite end of the spectrum is rappers that are TOO on beat..too much (he used talib kweli as an example)

and in conclusion the best rappers (in his opinion) balance the two- being on beat and flowing.

    true? or not?

I'd say that's true....cuz it's not good when you're ALWAYS on one or the other...it gets boring.

    Busta Rhymes

But ONLY when he does a guest verse on someone else's song.

His verses always explode when he's a guest.....but he's very hit and miss with his own tunes.

Hmmmm...bit of a mix and match...form up like Voltron, seen?

Aight, I'm sayin' the delivery of Mikah9 or Dose One...some highly syncopated shit, nah mean? Abstraction of a Vast Aire or Dalek...the insight and machine gun delivery of Aesop Rock...but all in the chillin' swager of a DEL or another left coaster like MURS or Ras Kass...

But if I had to narrow it down to just one man...that'd have to be KRS-Juan

well laid down my man!...vast's flow is dangerous when he's on but he can't freestyle to save himself...vast's delivery is good when he's got shit to work with...

"they lied - when they said there was no Aire in space"

Word to the pigeon...the man is legend.

Take for instance "The F-Word"...for me one of those rare tunes that comes along that you really, really feel, seen? Just makes you just drop your head, take a breath...see her face in the corner of your mind and realize that the heartache isn't as alienating or unique as you thought it was afterall...

Similar to the feeling I get when I hear tunes like Pharcyde's "Passin' Me By" and that lil ditty "P.I.M.P" by Snooper Dooper and Fiddy.

    ;)

I considered that one myself...but i find that Rakim in his older age is much too boastful.

Now if you called Rakim wearing Ewing Sneakers, a tight fade and a leather 8-ball jacket, that's a totally different story.
