When any of our djs play in another city/town they draw mad crowd, but here.. barely nuff to cover the costs.

Very true. But I'd say it's the music snobs that actually support and respect our locals.
The people that don't know much about the music are the ones who don't support them.

I've always stated that i'd rather attend an event packed with locals over a headliner any day. Dont get me wrong Headliners are a nice treat now and again but everyone's WAY too hung up on them. It seems as tho you put a (UK) beside there name and people will show up that dont have a clue as to who they or what they spin.

I've personally seen people looking at flyers and say "This party sucks, its all locals"

Our locals rock a party better than anyone, but if there had to be a headliner i'd like to see one headliner and more locals rather than a few headliners (2-3) and a couple locals (speaking in a multi-room party kinda way)

Craig's invading Kingston(of course, that's pretty much the norm for him) tonight, at the Astral Projection party.

With 22 DJ's plus live acts and demo's, it's a pretty big event for Kingston, and seeing as how Craig's 'Vector Productions' is involved as well, he had to be there(here). Sucks for those in the Prairies though 'cause he's a great DJ.

Hmmm, only 7 hours left in that party, I'd better get my arse in gear and get dressed before I miss all the DJ's...

And as far as the whole 'local' DJ's aspect goes, I find I get more excited about the local DJ's. With most other types of performers people get excited about home-town boys(or girls of course), so why not support what one has in their own city? It only makes sense.

It's great to have a headliner to pack the place, but when you're closing a party just remember it's usually the local DJ's that are keeping you rocking(or raving if you will).
