Suits on a Plane?

Hello,

I know some Tribe members do a lot of travelling, so I am asking for advice.

I am leaving on a business trip to Vancouver on Wednesday, but unlike some of my other business travels, this particular journey requires that I take my absolute best suits. Not even the middle range.... but my best {Armani, Canali}.

I was going to wear one on the plane, but a co-worker suggested against it. In his opinion Air Canada is too dirty to wear your best clothing. So what is the solution? Does Air Canada provide a suit hanging rack? My luggage is rather small and I'm worried about wrinkling.

Thanks.

if you smoke some weed before you get on the plane, you won't notice the dirt on the plane

Put your suits in a suit bag & hang them in the closet in business class when you board the plane. My experience has been that crew are happy to hang your coat & suit bag, regardless of whether you're seated in business class or not.
Otherwise, pack your stuff inside dry cleaner bags (excellent wrinkle preventers), fold carefully, & let suits hang out when you arrive @ your hotel room. You can steam any wrinkles out nicely by hanging the suits on a hanger on the shower curtain rod @ the back of the shower & turning the shower on full blast full hot for about ten minutes.

Great advice. I will definately try hanging my suits in the business class closet on the plane {they will be in a suit bag}.

Sometimes if you wear a suit on a plane.....and they have extra room....and you are dressed well.....they put you in 1st class! But a suit bag should do the trick.

Big Whup.. I have a Versace suit.. but I grew out of it :(

I like the Versace. Can't stray from Italian because I wear a 38 tall. Even the British 38's look like 40's...too bulky.

Anderson Cooper has 1 really nice Prada pinstripe that looks slick. Best dressed anchor on CNN by far.

I generally only fly in a suit, you'll notice the difference in the way people treat you. Air Canada isn't bad, if anything the suit makes the whole experience a little easier.

When did International Clothiers start selling them?

hahah. Right...

The day Moore's starts carrying Armani is the day we know the world as we know it is over. Any place selling suits in the Dufferin Mall has issues to begin with. I guess they cater to the "Hotti" clientele [see 'Hotti' thread].

Flying in a suit is so much better, you get treated like gold. Every girl you flirt with flirts back and gets involved and flight attendants give you free drinks. Hell I don;t even mind american INS when I'm in my suit, and ontop of it you get better pockets.

The suit is the holy grail of airline travel.

pfffft.

Comparing International Clothiers to Moores is pretty fuckin far fetched.

You can get some pretty serious suits at Moores these days.... I recommend the Pronto Couture label (@$499).... import from Italy, competition sells this quality of suit for AT LEAST $750....

You know, it's like they say: only the truly wealthy and successful feel the need to mention the type of suits they wear on a business trip. I am very impressed by your clear and evident status. Not to mention your complete self-confidence and lack of insecurity.

A lot of larger aircraft have a small closet on board for hanging things. Check you ticket for your equipment - if you are on an Airbus of Boeing plane you're probably okay, but if you're flying on a regional jet you're probably out of luck. When you board the plane ask one of the attendants to hang the item; don't forget to tell the attendent that it's your best Armani or Canali suit so they can treat you with the right level of reverence and respect.

A good quality suit bag (nylon) and a sturdy hanger helps. And don't forget it on the plane.
