Stylish Saturdays - Vital at the Hooch

Well, another saturday nite done and yet another saturday nite that i've come home with a smile on my face.

big thanks to shawn (CC) for keeping up with this little nite. not too many attendees as of yet, but a quality crowd had been in attendance every week!

tonite was no different...only the tribe members in attendance were drunker than usual!!! (janie, echo - drunk wha??!!

lovely to see everyone out, drinking, chatting, dancing...so fun!! you guys are awesome and your support is great!!

to CC - thanks kiddo. you do good!

to basic - thanks for the mcdonalds picnic. glad we didn't get into a scrap with that dude despite my bitch mode.

When I left my house tonight, I was so tired...but I knew I was headed to Gypsy Co-Op (aka the Hooch) to hear some chill jungle and hang out in an environment conducive to relaxing (but not too much!)...

I ended up having a really sweet time, although I bailed fairly early due to my tiredness - not before I got to hear some nice jungle...Finally got to see DJ Chase - after grooving to his CD for so long but always missing his sets, it was a total polkaroo situation - I was not dissapointed, wicked wiked choons (altho the MC was an unexpected down

)

Overall it was a night filled w/ random drop-ins (aka the whole bottle of wine to herself crew

) of people, many of whom I hadn't seen in awhile...It's cool to know something like this exists on a Saturday night!!

I was going to stop by to say hello on my way home since Barry Weaver didn't show up, but I saw you guys walking down Queen so I figured it was pretty over at Hooch.

i must say that this night seems a lot like hanging out at someone's house. it's really small and cozy, and we just sit around chatting most of the night. it's hard to imagine that it's a saturday night at a bar. i find it's a nice change of pace. thanks for coming by last night. it was great to see everyone out. and i have plenty of tricks up my sleave for the weeks coming up, so this night will be something that will be here to stay.

God, I am SO glad I left System. That was HORRIBLE!!! I've never been so bored in my life.

But then I was like "LET'S GO TO VITAL... NOW!" and all was better. *sigh*

I am so glad "Casino Royale" played because I love to see Jane grimace. It's the sadist in me.

And it's always a pleasure to see wonderful, beautiful people out. And Vital was where they had all gone cuz I didn't see them anywhere else. It's the place to be for chillin' jungle, a positive vibe and silliness hidden under the "stylish."

Kevin, you could've taken that guy out. He was so nasty! But I'm glad you got home in one piece. And you too, Sarah. You would've kicked that guy's bootie back to System where all the losers were.

many thanks to everyone that came out that night...

and many, many thanks to shawn for relaxing his "no-MCs" rule and letting drum major on the mic. i realize you may not have been too excited about it, and i really appreciate you bending your rule this one time. it was drum major's last night in toronto, before he goes away for a year or more, so i managed to convince shawn to let him on the mic. i find drum major is one of the only mc's that i like to play with (can't forget about wizard tho), as he compliments the music rather than fighting it like so many other mc's. plus, the vibe is nice when the two of us work together, so hopefully that spread a bit to the rest of the place.

but if you didn't like the mc, that's cool ... next time there won't be one

the only thing that would have made my night better is more beers ... but i started spinning and forgot about last call. hate it when that happens.

chase, you fucking rock. always a treat to see you play. i think i'm impressed more and more everytime.

as for the mc situation. as i said, i HATE mcs, but a while back i saw drum major mc at a ukg party at una mas, and he was wicked. he was more of a host. didn't really rhyme much, so i was impressed. i'm sure i had a post about it from months back, explaining that he did a good job.

and gypsy coop is totally going to get better with every week from this point in. no more limited promoting and only the VERY best djs will be booked each week. and chase, you'll definitely be one of those.

I have no idea what everyone is talkin about...I was NOT drunk on this funfilled evening...lol....okay well maybe a little...but not as bad as JANE!!!!!

The hang-over the next day was not pretty tho!
