Strep throat is hell.

I am coming down with a cold :(

I have no chicken soup, so I'm making cabbage rolls to make me feel better.

ahh Sam....i'm the strep throat queen...i know how you feel. theres not much you can do about it unfortunatly..just remember to take your medicine till its done adn get some rest...tea with honey in it helps the pain a bit..maybe you should drink some of that...feel better!

i just got back from the doctor and found out htat i have a nasty head cold....
feels like my head is going to explode from all the pressure, my neck is so sore and apparently i'm gonna get a horrible cough and sore thoart.

AND, the BEST part is all i can do is take sudafed yet it apparently last 3-5 WEEKS!!!!
i've been sick for a week.....4 to go??!!!

i'm so lucky:(

That's exactly what I have. It's taking forever to get rid of.

RJ45, if it gets worse and you haven't seen a doc please do. Strep can turn into nastier stuff.

yup, that's the baby the my roomates and I have all had this month. THe crappy part lasts about 2 weeks, there is a point after the first week that you think you are getting better and than it knocks you out again for a few more days.

after that you have 2-3 weeks of snot and coughing...

fun fun fun!

I'm sorry you have it. I used to get it twice a year when I was younger...up until I was about 16. NOw I only get it once a year thank god! I have never really had any other illnesses so it seems to me that my body is really weak in defending itself against the nasty streptococcus (or however you spell it) bacteria.

Either that or it really likes it and invites it into play :D


I hope you feel bettah :)

Ya totally, i thought i was getting better yesterday but today HOLY SHIT my head feels like its gonna blow up.

so you 're telling me after all this fun head congestation and pain, i have snot and coughing to look forward to??

indeed! but it's not so bad, at least all the coughing makes you feel like you are giving your abs a good workout :D

^^My doctor told me to take sudafed to relieve the pressurea nd pain in my head....
its not working tho.

what did you guys do? any suggestions?

(i need a six pack stomach...its bikini soon!! bring it on!!)

RJ45 - I feel for you brother! I had it last year and was miserable. I missed a full week of work (paid).... but I was the bad kind of sick, where you're too sick to really enjoy the paid time off work.

If you smoke, this is a wonderful opportunity to quit as you can be one week clean with NO effort.

Indeed, strep can turn into many nasty things .. ear and lung infections being the most common, but not the worst. I went to my doctor on Friday and he gave me a prescription for Amoxil, which didn't do anything for me. So after suffering through the entire weekend, I went to his office on Monday only to find out that he's in Acapulco for the week! Bastard! :p

So this old senile quack substitute doctor gives me another prescription, this time for Biaxin. This shit better bloody work. The ironic part? I tell the guy I can't get any food down because it's just way too painful, then he immediately prescribes me an antibiotic that you apparently have to take with food. Thanks, champ. Good move. :rolleyes:

Meh, let's hope it works (without food).

worst thing about Biaxin was it gave me this incredibly bad taste in my mouth for the first day... made me gag... and when your throat hurts this bad that just makes it hurts more!
