strange spam subjects

Are these supposed to make me want to read the e-mail??

"chipmunk beautiful deconvolution dogbane myel"

"chastity horrify shopworn humidistat"

"credulous barnet anachronistic nautilus ascension"

"cockpit harcourt"

"appellant jess lyra copernican diamond"

BTW, they're all the same ad...for Viagra, or as they like to spell it, Viarga, Vagira or Virgaa.

Is there some reasoning behind this I'm just not getting?

I get a LOT of spam at work. A LOT. I guess that's what happens when you get email from an address that's listed on a website.

My favourite from this week was a penis enlargement ad... We get that one several times a day, always with a different subject. This one time the subject was "herpes".

Perhaps it's just me, but if you have herpes, MAYBE penis size wouldn't be your biggest worry... :p

YES! I got that one a while ago! I don't know why I didn't keep it... it was SO weird! If my memory serves me right, he was from the future and got trapped in our time and now was looking to build a time machine to get back to his time... or something along those lines.

They're all from the same spammer. My guess is the unrelated words won't trigger the spam filters that Hotmail (et al.) have set up. Perhaps they're really desperate and just want to get the email through to you however they can?

Rob
*nod* That sounds right...intentionally misspell Viagra so it'll get through. Still, these random combinations of words are rather amusing..."do tell me about your baseball floorlamp lazy number!"

Newer spam filters will catch the unrelated words in the subject line just fine.

Of course it will probably block my mail to whoever since i like silly subjects.
