Nas is the Orson Welles of hip-hop; came out of the gate with a masterpiece, then slowly sank into mediocrity.

From what I've heard the album isnt much, the first single uses the hook from The Soprano's theme song for god's sake.

I still think he's better than Jay-Z though..

Which could have been good if it was done properly... the hook had so much potential, it's a shame to see it wasted like that.

so unfortunate cause I think Illmatic is one of the best (if not the best) hip hop albums of all time!

Half-Time was the only good thing NAS ever did.

Ever since that, he's gone BLING BLING

Nas's entire first album was hardly bling bling stuff. Yoo didn't like anything on Illmatic besides "Halftime"

I'm getting back to you today, Shannon. Sorry about the wait, hotmail has been giving me problems at work and my net access at home is really limited.

Not really, personally I listened to Half Time when it was a 12" Single.
