Hello? Off the hook! It's nights like these I wish happened more often in this city. When you get beyond a certain point, you can't just go out every single weekend and stay up to daylight as often as you had before. But tonight, I wish it was up until daylight! The set was cutoff it seemed prematurely at around 4AM, and EVERY ONE in the room, it seemed to me, wanted much, much more.

Good mix of people, some familiar faces from parties past, all added up to a good atmosphere. And the music...! Driving and relentless rythyms kept me oh so happy I wish I could the clock back to 2001.
Very nice attendance, not as packed as I had expected. There was a lot of anticipation for this event, so I figured that it would be a good idea to hit the venue relatively early, say around 10.30PM, but it there were only a few people there at that usually ungodly hour. It filled up pretty nice, but not to the packed sardines point that I usually expect in the Guvernment mainroom, but thankfully it was rather dark in most spots so I couldn't really see that it was a sausagefest. (Point up for debate.)
What else can I say? You know this is the techno you've wanted to hear, and here you would have heard it. It was a fulfilling set.
I really wish it went on for a little longer. I had been looking forward to Greg Gow's set, he's pretty good and has a nice track selection, but when Speedy J ended with this crazy massive buildup, the lights went on! And then I think all the people there felt a kinda disappointed feeling that whatever was going to happen, had already transpired.
And now we get to go home, or whereever people's habits would take them.

Mateo was also nice and groovey but with a hard edge that had the floor in perfect position for the onslaught that was Speedy J.
Speedy was really agressive. Loads of builds with tons of fx. For nearly 3 hours, Speedy just toyed with the room and the energy. Totally proper techno. Straight up machine gun groove. Massive.
The crowd was 100% responsive. This was a barriage of beats, bliss and bass, with a side order of tons screaming and yelling. What a great crowd.
The only downside (and it really is sad because nights like this only come along every couple of years), was that they ended the night right at 4 am, cutting Greg Gow out of the picture. Everyone wanted more, but despite chants of "one more, one more", the staff cut the night off, leaving Speedy with a full floor of screaming slaves.

I've never been so bummed about missing a party in my entire life...my fucking flight didn't even get in to pearson til 2:30am. the entire way all I could think was "speedy's probably on right now" and "everyone I know is going fucking apeshit right now"

oh so awesome...... still can't quite comprehend what happened lastnite. I mean I was there.... I had a good time. I had only 2 redbulls and 2 beers.... but by the end I was twitching and twisted, dancing, yelling, and shooting my celphone in the air to it all..... fuckin priceless!

I came, I danced, I left - had a great time, Speedy J fuiken killed it, loved the dukesd as always. Maeto was here and there but had me moving.
Got there at around 10:30 and stayed till close. But, I thought greg gow was to spin from 4-close? ahwell - my body probably thanks me for bringing it home a few hours earlier than planned.
But great party, I needed that.
