speaking of pop up windows (on tribe)

im sick of that gm sunfire (i think thats what its for) pop up ad on tribe

not the fact that it pops up every time i log on, or every now and then, but the fact that everytime it opens up it causes my internet explorer to perform an illegal operation and explorer being shut down.

clearing everything in my task bar, making some stuff inacessible.

it crashes like 80% of the time, and its been doing it all weekend.

has this happened to anyone else? am i alone? how do i solve this (is there a way to tweak IE so it wont crash no more?)

my pop up window killer wont even catch it in time before it crashes

I've switched from Analogx Pow to Pop Not and find it superior software in general. No problems with pop ups on this site or any other. However if you get a private message Popnot treats it as a pop up window and won't allow it to open if you get the prompt. So you do have to go through your user control panel to read private messages, but it's a small hassle compared to the general convenience of the program.

and the main one is big and weird and there is no way that i know of closing it..

when i right click in the bottom bar it doesnt close...
nothing to say "close this page"

ya and everytime you click to close one of the other windows 2 more open up..

ya it hella sucks

joey - hit CTRL+F4 when u want to close something and dont have a "close" button

There is a super easy way to disable the pop up ads. d/l IE6, and put tribe in the secure area in security preferences.

hey joey, go into the Control Panel of windows and you can get into the Internet Options there and change the start page without loading IE

yah......the internet is miscomunication central, and the ironic thing really is that it's a comunication reliant medium, that really isn't interesting (in an interactive sense) without some amount of miscomunication.

then, there are snarky people who sounds SO much worse than they intend like myself.


I'm one of those people who sounds really mean and harsh all the time in real life too aparently (based on others comments) I've found that I read that way too.....I'll be an excellent grumpy old man.
