Hey Guys..

As some of ya's know i've done a complete overhaul of my machine the past week.. now runnin an athlon 1800, 512mb ddr ram, Xtasy nvidia titanium 64MB ddr card, etc, etc.. AND a SB 128pci card.. ooOooOOOoo

Well it seems that my machine is too fast for the card... in a game its complete choppy where there are a lot of sound effects so i think i'm in the market for a new one..

I was checkin out a couple.. the SB Live! 5.1 and the SB Live X-Gamer 5.1 caught my eye.... (i'm tryin to spend under $100)....

Any suggestions/comments...

or anyone have a used one for sale?

Thanks!

The SB Live Value is under $100 and does the trick for just about everyone I know who's not into professional audio. That's what I have on my machine and I have yet to experience problems of any kind with it.

Taken from the Intel website:

AC '97 v2.2 is the next step in enabling affordable personal computers with high-audio quality comparable to many consumer electronics devices. The specification defines new, cost-effective options to help integrate the components necessary to support next-generation, audio-intensive applications such as DVD, 3-D multiplayer gaming and interactive music.

AC = Audio Codec

Well, I've got the SB Live Platinum 5.1, and I'm very, very happy with it.
I realize it's more than the $100 you mentioned but it's well worth it imho.
