Sony unveils $1200 ZX2 digital walkman for audio files

    my Xperia Z3 does all of that, and can take 128 gig cards @ one sixth the price.

    That's like saying my discman from 1994 will sound as good as my $1200 home CD player.

    Sure it can both play CDs, but the discman certainly won't do it as well.

    That said, with how far we've come with maturity of design, the law of diminishing returns is lower these days than ever before.

    There may be better options for the audiophiles for cheaper: FiiO X5 Player | headphone.com

    Would be interesting to see how it stacks up to this, which is much cheaper

    And its tough for me to see actual specs for the ZX2 - is that a quarter inch jack?

    Anyone who has more details on the amp/dac hardware let us know, this is what will separate this Sony walkman from their earlier efforts (better hardware)

    without your carrier subsidization your phone is 600-700$.....
