Chris, have you eaten at Tomi Kro yet?

I walk by it far too often, I love the place settings, but have yet to eat. Ive heard that resto with the nose out front is great Italian food, but loud. Both are on the list.

Little west of Leslieville (King/Ontario) Mangia Bevi ... Ex Terroni peeps and good pizza roma style in a nice space and you can always get a table... Not a lot of people know about this place but it has been there for some time...

we still haven't tried queen margherita BUT i LOVE LOVE LOVE pizza pide - the turkish pizza joint kiddie corner to the McD's at Gerrard & Pape.

try it - you won't be disappointed!

Pizza Pide

I've been to QMP a few times, pretty good but looking for more the delivery type places. Gonna give this Pizza Pide place a go. Love that they feature egg on pizza.

I think I will just point at the menu when I try a Ispanakli Beyaz Peynirli

Wow that pizza pide place looks great can you dine in? Do they serve beer/wine?

there are a few tables to eat in. it's nothing fancy though. we've only ever done take out b/c unfortunately, they don't deliver.

not sure if they're licensed. i'm guessing not.
i think last time we had the mevlana which was great. they offer fresh lemon, tomato & sweet onion on the side too.

it's not like traditional pizza - don't expect tomato sauce.

I agree that Mangia e Bevi is delicious. It's much busier at lunch than dinner, based on its location.

Hmmm ... I haven't been in a while. Need to straighten that out.

Saw the video and I have driven by this place so many times going to Home Depot and never thought to give it a try... That pie with the egg is a must try... Yeah booze looks out of the question...

Pizza Pide is definitely great, stick with the turkish pizza (pide) and away from the regular pizza though. The #10 (Roasted Lamb) and #11 (Turkish Sausage) both rule.

Are you sure the Pizza Pide people are not Dothraki? That menu sure sounds Dothraki to me... I think I will pop by later this evening to check.

Pizza Pide is awesome. It's not even really comparable to 'pizza'; it's a totally different food and blows it out of the water.

Agreed its a bit like apples & oranges, but you're not a big fan of traditional 'za.

I like both kinds - regular & pide style.
I despise the fat doughy crust that u find at pizza pizza. Garbage!

Do you people get the cracked egg on top? I don't like runny egg whites so that grosses me out.

Any recommendations of which one? I feel like trying it at some point.

Heads up: The delicious Lorne Thurston honey is back at Strickland's Meat Market. The old guy was not too well and had suffered some strokes so he was not so active of late, but he is back at his beekeeping, and his honey is back in the shop. It is fantastic - the raw creamed honey especially.

Been hitting up stratengers quite a bit this summer - pizza is really good. Can get a little dodgy,
But the food is great and well priced.

Popped my head into "Goods and Provisions" last night. Owner is the same guy who owns the
Comrade. Menu is going to be eclectic. Should be open in a couple. Really slick interior - great
Looking bar.

Owners of table 17 opening an italian place across the street featuring fresh pasta. Good news.

I go here all the time, I bring my 1 year old daughter with me. The afternoon crowd, which consists of the unemployable and old 80's rockers, entertain her while daddy gets a much needed pint. Beer prices good for the neighbourhood and pizza is good...rest of the menu is less than desirable. Just put in pool tables though.

I've eaten in the place quite a few times. Talked to the owner as well and he tells me he is Turkish.

I went to Pizza Pide and it was really quite good. They have an assorted one the owner recommended that is like 6 different ones and it was tasty. I will go back for sure.
