so i'm listening to happy hardcore

right so I've been listening to bad music this evening and thought "Hey happy hardcore is the butt end of all musical jokes ever!" So I decided to download some and see what all the shazz is about (I never really listened to any before, never got into it).

So far I've listened to three songs called eye opener, shooting star, and elysium. I've heard of these songs before but never consiously sat and listened to them, or the genre for that matter.

Since it's slammed on a constant basis I just wanted to know why do people who like it, like it?

I dunno, it's not my cup of tea (I knew that before I listened to it, but whatever), all I can think of is the word 'rave' used as a verb.

Hook me up Joey.

when i listen to Vinylgroover w/ MC Magika and MC Stixmen, i actually *feel* like i'm rushing on something.

its bizarre... HHC to me, is a rave. in the best sense of the word.
its smiling faces, its hands in the air, its whistles horns and lighters, its a group of hundreds belting out the cheeziest lyrics at the tops of their lungs.

its pure silly happy fun.

you don't go to a HHC party to act hard. you dont go to look cool.
you go to let go of all those preconceived notions of cool/mature/elite...

its a blast, and its really too bad that more people didn't get into that scene a few years ago in toronto. the parties were off the hook and those nights will go down in memory for me as the few true raves i ever went to.

but i'll give another example of why i like it:
if i'm feeling angry or upset about something i will put on h2bhc4 and listen to #5-john gotti's revenge b/c i think it sounds kind of angry so i can get it out...but then as the cd keeps playing i start to sing along and feel better and by the end of #9 elysium i am feeling WAY happier the music is just too happy, uplifting (some may call it cheesy...) that i can't NOT be happy
there are so many other things...
i also think being able to sing along is a big thing for me
